The data they have is incomplete as they couldn't track Palworld. Palworld is possibly the highest-selling game of 2024 so far where as of February 22nd it had sold over 15 million copies on steam and had 10 million players on Xbox.
I don't know how many copies they sold on Xbox but I bought a copy of the game on that platform because my laptop was not strong enough to get more than 30-40 fps on the PC version at the time.
I didn't see the need to buy the PS5 version of the game because a 60 fps patch was already out on PS4. Hopefully the people who got the remastered version found some value in it.
That $80 price point is likely to happen in 3 years, not 20.
It's mostly day-one 3rd party releases on Game Pass. Xbox sparsely releases 1st party titles as you all know. Several day-one titles are being released this month and none of them are 1st party
Lookup the games that are going to be added this month. Games from 3rd party publishers also get day one releases on gamepass.
The only thing that makes it confusion is because, Microsoft has PC gamepass and legacy console gamepass for existing customers.
There are really only 3 tiers that the average console gamer will have access to similar to how it is on PS5. These articles needs to be put to rest if they are not going to add anything new to the conversation.
Gamepass core - PS Plus Essential
Gamepass starter - PS Plus Extra
Gamepass Ultimate - PS Plus Premi...
I wasn't really into overwatch so I didn't even download the beta. I just continued playing the 1st descendant.
The fastest way to kill a live service game is to nerf the weapons people like to use, not listen to the players and release uninteresting weapons.
Unfortunately Helldivers did all 3.
This is the metaphorical rake Xbox keeps stepping on after something good happens.
People will not be happy with the price increase. I am still not happy with the increase to ps+. I would be even more upset with the price increases if there was no other alternative to get a subscription.
It seems Phil Spenser and his team hates the Xbox.
Gamepass starter $14.99 without dayone games.
Gamepass PC $12.99 with dayone games.
Once again the industry is pushing us to the PC.
I also received the $10 code. That was in the PS4 days prior to Jim Ryan taking over.
There are only a small handful of PS5 exclusives that are not on PC. Soon people will be saying you don't need a PlayStation. Don't throw stones from a house made of glass.
They used to send out things to existing customers before Jim Ryan took over in the PS4 days but now, there is nothing for existing members other than some profile avatars.
The ad is about what I would expect them to do after announcing it coming to fire sticks. Prime day is just around the corner and if I were them, I would advertise this like crazy since those sticks were will be heavily discounted.
With that said, Xbox needs to do more to make people excited for the platform. IDK why Phil Spenser is deliberately letting the brand go without a fight.
The title of the article lies to you. That list may just be the top selling games on PS5 already.
We all know Palworld was one of the top games this year and the last time I checked, it is still not on PS5.
With that said, the PS5 is the top console of choice. Why? Because the majority of goty nominees are on PlayStation and their major exclusives tend to get nominated. While Xbox hasn't had a nominee in over a decade.
Edit: just w...
I still haven't played it and the first game as yet.
I got one and it will be the last time I subscribe to PSN in a while.
The biggest barrier to entry is the cost of PC components. Everything has gone up exponentially in the last 10 years with a single GPU coating 3x the price of a PS5. Madness! I remember when budget builds used to be $400 but now it's $800 to $1000.
Sony simply didn't want their IP to show up on their main competitor's console. Nothing complicated there. No need for BS, tap dancing, or mental gymnastics. Though what I have observed over the years is that when a developer says their game is exclusive to PlayStation because they want to push the console to its limit or talk about the power, it usually means there was some sort of deal involved and it is them telling you the reason is because of the console war without telling you i...
I had a great time with the second son. Never got to play the originals and hope they get remastered one day.
