One major problem I have noticed is that the weapons are the same. I was expecting ultimate weapons to be more interesting like shooting plasma, lava or lightning. Instead they are almost no different from regular drops you pickup.

Regular bullet weapons that perform the same are just boring.

The game looks like it had a higher budget than the normal Xbox game which would lead to disagreements like you said.

Microsoft probably axed Scalebound due to budget issues, as its gameplay seemed too advanced for the Xbox at that time. Although there's no certainty it would've been a hit, even with Platinum Games at the helm, the release of Redfall suggests other reasons for its cancellation are less likely. It's truly regrettable.

Days Gone didn't resonate with me as other Sony exclusives have, though I might give it another shot someday. While it's not keeping me up...

@shinoff2183 "Xbox. Players weren't buying games when the marketshare between the two were pretty close due to shortages either."

When the current Gen started, Xbox and PlayStation were never close, 99% of games were cross gen and it was PS4 and PS5 vs Xbox one and Xbox Series X/S. Playstation had a significant market share and I also didn't try to make any reference to that time people because all 3 console makers were making record profits during that t...

I hope this feels useful and I hope they put in a new major boss that will put the tenno skills to the test.

This is why I don't play fighting games online. You are either going up against a cheater or a guy that sounds like he was there while the game was being coded. It is not a place for casual players.

If Ubisoft is going out it's way to promote the game to this extent then it may be a GOTY contender.

@shinoff2183 What the documents did was prove something we already knew. Gamers are less likely to buy a game they already have access to on the service. Games sales are reduced a year following their release.

In response to your other points, games get delayed on Xbox because developers want more time to get the series S version working.

Smaller games or games that have a partnership with Sony are also not going to go to Xbox.

Developers make placeholders for every potential problem they can think of to lay the ground work from early. It is common in almost every industry.

Many persons don't seem to realize that it is a delicate balance between the employer, the employees and the customers. If the unions allow the employees to get more power, then it will be at the expense of the employer and the customers.

What do employees want? Better working conditions and better pay. Unless they have some draconian working conditions like you hear about the Japanese black companies, I don't see how having a union is going to make it better for u...

How do we know those specs aren't just placeholders based on the speculation that there will be a PS5 Pro?

I've noticed considerable pushback regarding the responses I've received thus far; however, there's no concrete evidence to support the claim that Xbox gamers don't purchase games or spend money on them. The data provided is either incomplete or inaccurate. I wish we could get a full picture; however, digital games are not tracked.

My initial argument is that Xbox gamers will purchase or spend money on games they deem worthy, and Game Pass may not achieve th...

This is true if you are already subscribed to gamepass. It makes no sense to buy the game unless it is a game you plan to play long term and don't access to be dependent on your subscription status.

I personally don't stay subscribed to game pass all year round because it would be too expensive. I subscribed to play Palworld which I enjoyed, and I know it is one of those games you will spend nearly 100 hours playing so I bought the game.

I also ...

That statement is true because the Xbox has a significantly lower market share compared to the other 2 platforms. I don't take that statement about developers being asked their opinion on Xbox seriously because apart from small indie devs, I doubt the average developer is aware of the revenue and sales coming in everytime something is sold similar to how the average worker in a company has no idea how much revenue is coming in and how it is being spent.

I don't mea...

That breakdown is flawed. Does it account for digital games sales and at least one person must of bought the game on PC?

The majority of series consoles being sold are the digital only variant so it is understandable the numbers will be skewed that way.

It's understandable that people won't buy their exclusive games because it is on game pass but what about the games that are not on gamepass?
Has game pass stopped you from buying games on other platforms?

686d ago 2 agree24 disagreeView comment

All of this is self-inflicted damage from Microsoft and Xbox. Contrary to what many fanboys believe, gamepass doesn't harm the industry or create a culture of people not wanting to buy games.

People will buy games if they believe it is worth it or if another game is not already occupying their time. The most popular games on Xbox are live service games and a service like gamepass will have no value to those people.

If those players find the grind too difficult then why are they continuing to play the game? They do nothing but put more pressure on the others who are actually playing and there needs to be a creative way to deal with them.

If the FTC can pressure Microsoft into back pedaling then I will happily watch from the sidelines.
