"What the hell are you talking about, THEY ARE THE PC GAMING MARKET."
Yeah and MS is the OS market and that didn't help them when they entered the home console market with the original Xbox. Do you think PC gamers will go to home consoles now, because Valve offers a hardware product?
They don't have the fundings, budgets, manpower, for this kind of business. 293 people work at Valve - as I said there were more people working on games like Ha...
Steambox will fail. Not because it does not run Windows, but because
- Valve is too small for the market.
- No exclusives except Valve games, especially when you consider games that actually move hardware. Left 4 Dead, Half Life and a bunch of DLC games like CS:GO.
- They never built their own hardware before.
- They have no clue how to market such a device.
- Marketing budget is significantly lower than the ones of Nintendo, Sony or MS. <...
Well you should do a research instead of complaining. Here is what MS did in 2010, 2011 and 2012 within the Microsoft studios.
2010
Microsoft Studios formed a Mobile Gaming studio focused on developing gaming and entertainment multimedia for Windows Phone.[6]
Microsoft Studios forms new internal studio named Microsoft Game Studios - Vancouver.[7]
Microsoft Studios forms new internal studio named Microsoft Flight Development Team to bring Micro...
ALLWRONG is right (lol)
The Xbox 360 has the most games this gen. Retail and digital.
You can't disagree with facts. And MS has the most 1st party studios ready for next gen. Another fact.
Halo 4 sold more copies in 7 weeks than GT5 in its first year. Another fact.
I can't wait to get disagrees for that. It is nonsense to diagree with facts, but it will happen.
And btw. whoever said the PS3 has got mor...
There has been a rumor and because there hasn't been another rumor contradicting the previous rumor, it might be true!
3 - 4 months and we will find out.
I think this is just for the engine in cooperation the these institutes named in the article.
Everything runs fine.
The only issue are the saves in the cloud.
you can use all the apps, play all the games and use the marketplace without any problem.
@jp_footy2
LOL!
To achieve that the PS3 has to be on the market till 2019 (!!!) without slowing down in sales at all.
So a PS4 and rumors of the PS5 by then would not hurt sales of the PS3 at all. Neither would the Xbox 720, Xbox 4 the Wii U, the next Nintendo system or anything like that. I highly doubt that.
It is just a feature dude. You can turn it of and still play the same game. Only on N4G people get mad for having an option.
Before people overreact, FIFA does the same thing. You get punished for insulting the referee when you swear and your player is not allowed to play for the next game. And it works in German.
I don't see a problem with trying to get all three major markets done right.
IMO the three major segments of the market are:
Core games
Casual games
media functionality
IMO MS is in the best position to satisfy all three segments.
Well... I will probably have a new console.
I did not try to make this a 360 vs PS3 argument at all. It is just that Sony did not focus on core games in 2012 at all. Actually, it was a pretty bad year for PS3 only owners.
I mean the last big AAA exclusive was Uncharted 3 in November 2011. So celebrating the next big AAA exclusive in April / May 2013 or somewhere in that timeframe does not do the trick for me.
Anyway, whatever makes you happy...
Enjoyed your xmas lineup with LBP Karting, PSABR and Wonderbook?
Well if you are looking for some IPs to grab you have a good choice here.
Well the PS3 is the worst selling Sony console ever. Sony made it to 50% of the PS2 sales by losing about 6 billion USD for it. They really had to push this in the market.
Now Sony is in trouble, so they can't afford to do this one more time.
MS is as healthy as ever and the Xbox 360 is making lots of money. The brand just grew massively over the past 6 years.
And MS has the most 1st party studios with Twisted Pixel, BlackTusk, 343i, MS...
Yeah, first two comments would already feel offended to have this option on their console.
A lot of people forget about Alan Wake. That was some brilliant story telling IMO and it always felt like a "real" game. Damn, the gaming media never saw the brilliance in it.
I think MS will offer a lot more first party content next gen with all the studios they built and bought.
This ad screams episodic content. Making something like The Walking Dead / Alan Wake with more action sounds awesome to me. Spartan Ops for Halo 4 might have been a firs...
Every gamer has a good gaming PC anyway. That is what N4G comments told me when we talked about exclusives.
Now it hurts MS, because these games are available on another console. Which is not even confirmed in any way btw.
4.5 million copies sold on 360. Actually this is the 2nd best selling exclusive this year after Halo - and it still sells 50k per week.
The number is probably used because the current Xbox 360 SKU offers a 320GB HDD. So they doubled it. And is 320GB a more common figure for HDD space?!
Anyway, if this is true, I think we will see some really impressive games for it. Can't wait to see what 343 industry will do with this. Halo 4 already looked awesome for a game that runs on a 7 years old system.
