This is the week after E3 and it shows which game rocked the conference.
Without fanboy goggles: The Surface is a very good tablet. I think they did some really good stuff with it. Keyboard, USB, stand, comes with MS Office etc.
It looks like a really cool device to me and I am not even looking for tablets. I still prefer my laptop.
If they don't want MS to get a headstart, they should release it in 2013.
How is 8 times more powerful than the 360 a weak console?
Am I the only one who thought Gears 3, Alan Wake, Halo 4, Uncharted 3 or Crysis 3 looked great?
Now think what these developers can do with much more powerful system.
$299 is a VERY fair price for a system with 6-8 cores, 4 GB RAM and a 8 times better GPU.
Look at the current specs and the games coming with it:
- 3 cores CPU
- 512 MB RAM
For those disagreeing.

LBP Karting and PSABR are very risky moves. Nobody before Sony has ever done it.
The sound is the best for any FPS ever. So much work was invested
You can't win with 2 game announcements in 90 Minutes. You just can't.
I bet this is not even gaming related.
Why would they buy a sinking ship?
Sonys worth is 15 billion USD. Steve Ballmers wealth is estimated with 15.8 billion. This made me lol.
let's say 30 developers were working on that game.
The average developer makes about 95k per year.

Let's say it wwas a very cost effective studio with lower wages with a 85k average.
The title was revealed two years ago at E3 2010. Of course it must have been in development before the reveal - it was played live on...
yup, here you go with the facts:
Number of 360 games shown: 17
Number of PS3 games shown: 7
Number of 360 exclusives shown: 11
Number of PS3 exclusives shown: 5
Number of new announcements (games we did not know about before E3):
Xbox 360: 7 (Dance Central 3, Lococycle, Matter, Ascend: New Gods, Splinter Cell Blacklist, SouthPark, Nike+)
PS3: 2 (Wonderbook and Beyond)
Just hard facts ...
The numbers I posted are for the whole division before it was put together with other products. So this includes software sales as well. In 2008 Sony lost 3 billion USD on the PS3 WITH the profits from software sales.
3DS already had a $100 pricecut and guess what: Not because it did so well
PS Vita is very close to be irrelevant. Are there still people claiming smartphones did not hurt handhelds?
I just want the next gen to start already.
@hicken
this is a PS3 vs Xbox 360 comparison, so I did not include the PS Vita. If you want to include it, go ahead.
The numbers for Microsoft and not inflated. Why don't you count by youself?! Fable was counted once. Actually I forgot Nike+ and Dance Central 3, which are exclusive games coming out this holiday season. So there you go with your two PS Vita games.
This is one of the myths here on N4G.
The PS3 is making a tiny, really tiny profit by now. That is a good thing. The PS3 cost Sony about 5 billions since 2005 (R&D). Overall, the PS3 will never be profitable.
Even the old CEO said this in an interview.
"You have spent three billion dollars on the Playstation 3, disregarding research and development. Can you ever get your money back?
Stringer: Not for as long as I ...
I thought she was the best presenter E3 has ever seen. Way better than the used car salesmen Jack Tretton or Don Mattrick.

@FlashXIII
"Outside of Xbox though what else have they been successful in other than PCs?"
Outside of Xbox, there was not much hardware they worked on. Zune (flopped) and Xbox (success) are the only products except peripherals (success).
How about online services. MS basically owns the IM market with Skype and Windows Live Messenger.
