Actually they fell way harder than the Nikkei. So it is both, a Japanese problem and a Sony problem. But a company losing 100 billion USD of its worth in 10 years is pretty bad.
And yes, it is gaming related. Ask Zipper and BigBig.
Alan Wake sold more than 1 million, which is not bad. Sorcery won't make it that far. It did not even enter the top40 (!!!) in UK... during the slowest time of the year. And Japan won't start to go crazy over Western games suddenly.
Too Human did flop though, but I don't get what this has to do with it. I mean, you bring up a game from 2008?! Look at Starhawk, Twisted Metal, Resistance for the Vita if you want recent releases.
Anyway, Sorcery is a...
Sorcery is a flop in every sense of the word.
MS just won E3
FF XIII sold 2 million on 360. Which is 4 times as much as Twisted Metal, 15 times as much as Starhawk, twice as much as Resistance 3.
2 million is not bad, it was a good move by Square. They made about 60 million USD with a simple port.
just some straight facts. Disagreeing is pointless.

And of course it has the most exclusives in 2012. The Witcher 2, Fez, Trials, Minecraft, Al...
If the PS4 is streaming only, Sony is in biiiiiig trouble.
In times like these, Sony should get their stuff together before they think about buying other companies.
UbiSoft will be on MS stage. So probably Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed III or Rainbow Six with exclusive DLC of full exclusives.
Best moment I can think of was the FF XIII goes multiplat. It was THE topic of the whole E3 and fanboys still cry over it. They even start to hype FFvXIII (a spin-off) as THE game in the series untill now. Just because they lost the really big game.
The launch of XBL was another huge milestone.
GTA IV goes multiplat with exclusive DLC was awesome as well.
LOOOOL
2012 is a pretty bad year for the PS3 and you can't deny it.
Exclusives like Starhawk and Twisted Metal turned out to be bad and bombed big time.
The "games" you listed are unconfirmed, they don't even have a name yet and you are hyping them already.
Last Guardian is on you "exclusive" list since 2009. FFvXII since 2008.
So all the PS3 has left for the year is Battle Royal...
They would still win thanks to Halo 4.
Seriously:
- Halo 4
- Forza Horizon
- Exclusive DLC / Mode for Resident Evil 6
- GTA V exclusive stuff
- New game from Twisted Pixel guys
- Ryse (crytek) detalis
- Fable: Journey
- CoD exclusive stuff
- Rainbow Six Kinect stuff
- New Rare game
- New Apps
- Skype
- Tomb Raider Exclusive stuff
- Hopefully something from ...
E3 2005 and E3 2006 were the best ones!
For E3 2005:

For E3 2006:

No Halo 4, no list.
Making videos with a cell phone camera from a TV does not work!
when it comes to 2012 exclusives, the PS3 is in trouble. i know a lot of fans on this site won't accept this at all, but it is still true.
What is the holiday lineup this far?
- LBP Karting
- Playstation Battle Royal
- MAYBE the Last of Us.
--> 2 confirmed games, both won't be huge hits at all. The Last of Us needs to release this year and it needs to be a huge hit.
notable games this far:
...
check arbitor365s post history. It is ridiculous. Every article / magazine that does not say good things about Sony is biased or paid by MS.
Check his video:

So the PS4 is a failure then?!
Waiting for arbitor365 to say why this review sucks.
Okay and this year you have
Battle Royal
LBP Karting
Sly Cooper
and MAYBE The Last of US
listing new IPs that are not even announced, games that probably won't make a 2012 release (FFvXIII, AGENT (LOL!), The Last Guardian) just shows the lack of PS3 games this year.
Xbox 360 already had Fez, Mincraft, The Witcher 2, Trials, Kinect Star Wars, Alan Wake AN and a couple of others.
If you say you can...
So what was actually announced?
