Since the operating system is a requirement to actually use the computer at all whether it is for games or not this means the build did not cost $500, it cost $600. If you do add the extras it costs even more. If you want sound then you need a headset or speakers of or some sort of output device so I would call that a requirement as well, but many people do have there own sound systems so that part might be avoided as a cost. As for a required operating system you could install a free vers...
Part of the issue is that society itself reinforces the stereotype this person is talking about. Why do men open doors for ladies? Why do they pick them up to go to the prom? I could go on. All of this is for the male to show the female what type of person they are and to get attention. Some of that is changing, but apparently not fast enough for this person. For the male age group that is said to play video games the most they really don't have the life experience or if they do the...
What I love and hate about the whole console war thing is the fact that when people quote facts they are a lot like politicians in that what they say might be half-true. While retailers did say they had XB1s in stock for longer periods than PS4 we are talking XB1 selling out in hours vs. PS4 in minutes. There really is no issues with either console being popular and the reality is we will not know how successful the launches truly were until both consoles are readily available with no suppl...
It reminds me of the Microsoft dude who said "Deal with it" before Microsoft reversed all there stupid game policies.
The author of the article mentions how easy it must be to be able use devices designed for other devices to be used on your game console of choice. I doubt it was necessarily easy. The company that did this could have started pretty early and the article doesn't actually say how long they were working on the adapter. So while it might not be hard it also might not have been easy or commercially viable for Sony or Microsoft to have this device especially since they want you to buy there...
A few here and there really doesn't mean anything. I suspect what he meant to say, but didn't say it very well was Microsoft sold all the stock to retailers.
I wouldn't mind seeing another Fallout 4. Maybe add vehicles into the game. Never made sense to me that you eventually have this really cool character and they are still walking around at the end of the game. They have the Virtibirds, and motorcycles that are obviously parked and not-ruined that appeared in the game, but you couldn't use them in Fallout 3, Vegas, etc. If robots and such survive why not vehicles as well?
PlayStation 4 will ONLY win if the X-Box One wins. The competition makes both companies better for the consumer. If either actually win that means the video game consumer has lost.
The following is a quick look at prices from various websites. This is the minimum dollar value found. Where many prices were found I split the difference:
RAM = $1,800 (used Crucial website - didn't find actual brand),
Video cards = $2,000 (were reference cards = $1,000 x 2),
Processor = $1,000,
HDD Storage = $250 (price ranges = $200-$300),
Motherboard = $300 (price ranges = $280-$400),
Windows 8.1 = $100,
Power Supply = $...

Never noticed or cared if it looked like Lindsay Lohan. If she actually wins her lawsuit that means anyone who takes a picture of themselves and looks like someone famous is going to be sued because of some family photo on MySpace or Facebook. What nonsense. Besides I think Rockstar probably has more money.
The author of this article has a point. 90% of the time it works correctly if you use it correctly. Perfection is an unattainable dream that will never happen. Saying it needs to work perfectly or you will not use it is the kind of thing a child tells there parents. The proper adult response: Here is the worlds smallest violin playing for you my angel. What it boils down to is giving it a chance. If you never do it may be something you regret. However, please do it quickly because its ...
When a PC is as easy to operate a toaster or at least the new game console then it will have a shot. Right now there is ZERO reason to buy a PC based on cost or ease of use to play a video game. I love how all the people who give these wonderful "Is it more economical?" type questions when for the mainstream it clearly isn't. First thing to consider, are you buying your own parts and doing your own upgrades? If the answer is yes you can get really close and probably stay clo...
Incorrect - what they said is give us money and we will send you a new console. If you don't send old one back we keep your money. They are NOT required to do anything at this point since not a single XB1 sold can be outside the replacement period for Dead on Arrival equipment. They are required in this case to do exactly nothing for you.
The Gamestop I'm nearest to has 5 employees I think and 1 manager/owner. When they did the midnight release of GTA 5 over 1000 people showed up for the pre-order of the game. They estimated an additional 500 people showed up to purchase the game from the store at midnight without a pre-order. Now imagine the XB1 or PS4 going on sale. I think it would be insane and that is just 1 Gamestop. A larger retailer like Best Buy or Target would have to some stock just because they want people...
There is nothing really wrong with this approach and it isn't even anti-consumer. The only thing that makes it difficult for a gamer is how quickly they want there box back. Let's be real about this - it isn't Microsoft's job to fulfill a faulty X-Box if it's DOA or goes bad within the purchasing period. If you buy your XB1 at retail it is the retailer's obligation to provide you with a replacement. That of course will not happen anytime soon I'm guessing due t...
X-DickBox sounds cool, but not appropriate for Live.
Unless he was using a shortened form of the word "Richard" then his butt should be banned. I am absolutely tired of the profanity and crassness and absolute childishness of every person I talk to or communicate with on X-Box Live unless they are my personal friends. If the gaming community wants to be seen as mainstream and grown up then this type of conversation no matter how small or large needs to stop. I don't know about other places in the world, but saying something lik...
People will have all kinds of comments, but the main thrust of this article is utter nonsense. It is NOT cheaper to game on a PC than it is a console like a PS3 or 360. In an entire 8 year period I spent $780 (360 console + Live) and to start with you will spend at least $700 on the PC so you can play decent games now. What about in 2-3 years? What about in 5 years and now it comes to 8 years - how much have you spent on upgrades, replacement parts because something has worn out? If you ...
Someday you may be to install the SteamOS if Valve gets to all work out. That is the only way I can see them obtaining the unrealistic $500 price tag. Wired had IBuyPower build a PC for $630 and it had everything including input/output devices and operating system.
