Yeah Soda, the character design, glorious use of color and ICO inspired architecture are just plain hideous...you've got no soul ;-)
Game Republic may not be at the forefront for pushing technology but their visual design team ooze style, Folklore is still one of the prettiest games on the PS3 from an art direction point of view and if this game can capture that magic again I'm on this game day one.

NIce review, Titan mode is where the true meat of this game is at.
I was really glad I chose Titan first time too, there was times when I doubted I could do it and the constant "would you like to switch to easy" really helps to deflate you even further but with perseverance you always find a way. I love that feeling of impossibility, dieing over and over again, turning the game off and calling it a night only to come back 10 minutes later and complete the task first go. How people get off on constant unhindered progression is beyond me.

I like how they go out of their way to disconnect their game from GOW by saying that this is a 3D makeover of the original Castlevanias which obviously predate GOW and then go on to gush about the game featuring massive "Titans". ;-) GOW 1 was the first game I played and thought to myself, "this is what a 3D Castlevania should have been".
Regardless, I have pretty high hopes for this game and I think it has the potential to square up against GOW.

I waited for a Gamestop to open on a wet Friday morning in a South Dublin shi*hole of a town..one other person showed, he was too nervous and socially retarded to talk to me. The two employees told me it was fantastic. I left the store, ate a big dirty fry up breakfast in a greasy spoon cafe and jumped in a taxi home, gaming by 10.00am. Kinda pales in comparison. ;-(

I'd love to see Santa Monica put the God of War spin on Celtic mythology, we've had East Asian, Nordic, Roman, Greek and Persian influenced games but nobody has attempted to bring the hero's and pagan god's of the British Isles to gaming.

They were doing ok up until the melodic/emotive/pop chorus..horrible. I hate that trend among a lot of American bands to feel the need to punctuate hard aggressive music with whining b*tch pop choruses.
Sure its most likely fake, but if you are going to debunk by example at least do a decent enough photoshop job as the original to prove your point. Lazy.
