@Sidar
" I can't help but wonder if my wife's piss taking about my hobby is not without merit."
So what?
You honestly believe she loves everything you do?
Thats just naive, even for a 33 year old XD."
Thanks for those pearls of wisdom buddy, I'm so much happier now!
I don't really need my wife's approval to play games, I was simply making a point about how non gamers perceiv...
@Jdoki
I absolutely agree with every point you've made. N4G is a very useful site, sure there's some amount of muck to sift through but overall it is a convenient one stop shop for news..and the fanboys can be amusing at times; ;-)
Although Edge has some excellent writers on its team, they love to play the contrarian far too much to be taken seriously.
Its not his opinion I've a problem with, its this schoolyard argument journalism. I'm a 33 old gamer and I'm quite comfortable with that but when the media representing one of your interests is so blatantly juvenile I can't help but wonder if my wife's piss taking about my hobby is not without merit.
Classic, made for N4G journalism, will probably be the hottest news of the day! Don't forget kids, there's plenty of actual news about games on this site too.
I'm off to write a piece on why "Troll" was a better movie that "Shindler's List".
Game journalism why do you so doggedly refuse to grow up with your audience?!
God I wish some publisher with exacting standards would give Game Republic a nice big budget and adequate development time to create a truly great game, I loved Majin and Folklore but they were both flawed titles..could have been classics but fell short of the mark.
Eh?! You have just unflinchingly commited something far worse than a virtual war crime..you've just delivered a massive spoiler! Shove your review up yer a**se you tool.
It was a nice score, nothing particularly memorable though. Would it really have killed them to rework more of the Castlevania classics? I understand its a rebirth of a franchise but the music box nod was great and a few more scenes like that would hardly be overkill. God of War 3's score was more to my liking.
I personally like the title screen, its bleak, utilitarian, perfectly reflecting the culture of the Helghast and contrasted with the brooding sentimentality of the music is just plain rousing.
Oh, and I bet it looks sh*t hot in 3D.
"remake of the 1981 Amiga 2600 classic of the same name"
"Amiga 2600" Is this some retro gaming in-joke that I'm oblivious to?!
About two minutes into that vid I knew Greg Miller had to be involved in the writing. Not funny whatsoever.
Looks exactly how I expected it to, like a beautiful HD version of the Petrified Forest level in Rogue Trooper...spores an' all.

So the removal of other OS has resulted in an upsurge in paedophiles and sex offenders?! I can see the headline "How homebrew saved me from the Peedo Parish Priest!"
N4G the home of quality journalism..what a silly t*at.
Small tip, whenever you see "blah blah blah footage EMERGED" you know its old and from some dodgy German site.
Delighted to get an opportunity to play this game, lauded by everyone I know.
Tool
As much as I loathe RTE I'm not going to knock an extra free service for the PS3. Besides I'm sure it will get some use when the new season of The Savage Eye starts...probably the only decent show they've had the last ten years apart from the ridiculously milked Reeling in the Years.
As for the stereotypes, the brits just can't help themselves...ever.
If I was trying to be truly objectionable I'd score this game an 7.5 out of 10. But I, like every "professional" critic, am biased and can only truly offer up my own personal opinion on a game. Majin gets a 9/10 from me for one simple fact, I loved it.
So without further ado I offer up my personal opinion on Jeffrey Matulef's review...Jeffrey your taste in games is up your hole.
Backtracking never hurt Symphony of the Night for me and it certainly hasn't been a chore for me in this game.
Did you finish the game or just play the demo?
@Sidar
I think fear is far too strong an emotion to connect to a discussion about gaming don't you? I'm not "afraid" of anything, its just plain irritating.
FFS man, no need for the big "SO WHAT?" There are no real issue's here, just a friendly discussion on entertainment. ;-)
