Nintendo Switch isn't a success yet. The high preorders are from launch hype + Zelda. In no way am I saying it will be a failure, but success is determined from the long run. Let's not forget that the Dreamcast was a huge success at launch.

As for Sony and MS... I doubt it. Sony has tried their hand twice at portables; the first time around was relatively successful, while the second time I don't even need to mention. MS is a maybe? But with them still putting ...

Let's not forget that by the time 360 released, PS2 had sold ~ 120 million. In between that time and the time they officially stopped manufacturing it in 2011, it sold 37 million more units. Considering how competitive the 7th gen was, that's very impressive, and when PS5 releases, PS4 Pro will be very cheap. No reason why it won't contine to do some decent numbers for a couple years after.

I think PS3 was hovering around 30 million. Best bet to find the numbers would be VGC.

The better ones are from the Xbox fanboys posse on youtube. Soooo many comeback videos saying the Xbone is going to pass the PS4 in worldwide sales before the gen is over; they can't even pass PS4 in the US, the way things are going.

57.1 million as if the end of December? That means they're going to far exceed their sales forecast for FY 2016; they were only forecasting 55 million.

So many continue to doubt the beast that is PS4; at every corner someone has to say it's all hype and it's going to stop very because of reason A or B, and it just keeps going up. 120 - 125 million sold in it's lifetime. Calling it now.

It really is. That's just how Sony do; even when they're far in the lead, they remain devoted to delivering more and more awesome AAA experiences throughout the course of their console cycle. The list of what we know is coming is already huge, and there's several more that will be added soon. E3 this year is going to be incredible.

Bu-bu-but "the Switch isn't supposed to replace the Wii U"

I feel bad for anyone who listened to that crap and bought a Wii U.

Considering that The two games garnering the most attention right now are Horizon and Zelda, and there's nothing worth noting for Xbox for the rest of the year besides Scorpio, I'd say yeah.

I have a 4K HDR TV, but I don't plan on getting Scorpio.

They made the cost effective 4K machine ever. The fact that Pro has a library of games running in native 4K. The checkerboard 4K delivers almost the same quality as native. It's a great piece of hardware for it's price. How can you expect it to compete with the Slim, which is much cheaper. For a premium model, Pro is doing great numbers. It was never meant to replace ir compete with PS4; just give the more hardcore audience an alternative that delivers more bang for buck.

That Thunderjaw figure is sick. I've got the Limited Edition preordered, so I'm getting the Aloy statue. That's would go awesome with it, if they release it in the US.

The only place where I've seen mention of this was from some idiot on Twitter who took an enlarged screen cap of the 720p Taipei Gameshow feed. No shit, a native 1080p/ 1440p game is going to look downgraded with such a large reduction in pixels. The game is going to look phenomenal. Guerilla is incredibly good at this.

With Nintendo clearly relying heavily on their first party titles to sell in the long run, there's a strong chance that Switch won't even outsell the Gamecube.

I would assume that means they're seeing success with the service, if they're so willing to invest in it.

Strong sales are to be expected because of Zelda, alone. The question is will it maintain, despite the obvious lack of strong third party support. It's one thing to get 360 ports of a 5+ year old game and some sports titles, but it means nothing if you're still missing he majority of the big sellers.

I can't wait. Ordered the Limited Edition so I get that badass Aloy statue with it

Nintendo wouldn't know online networking if it bit them in the ass. They're so caught in trying to maintain this crappy family friendly image that they've become completely out of touch with what core gamers want.

The news about this thing just keeps getting worse.

Shame. This is a surprisingly good game too. Sucks that Nintendo-only owners will have to miss out.

Titanfall 2 has sold better than people think. Not amazing, but a decent amount nonetheless. Plus, the game itself is excellent.
