Yeah the online needs some more balancing but it's in its early days and rockstar will learn from how people play the game and what works and what doesn't.
You can bet your bottom dollar that they will have gta online running like clockwork in next to no time.
In this case the single player is so full of content and quality it deserves the 10/10 for that alone. Also the online wasn't technically in the box at launch. And finally a review should be something you can refer back to in 2-3 years time. If even the online portion gets a low score due to some technicalities that lasted four days then that's not reflecting the product someone might want to purchase at a later date.

Also just for the record 2012 wasn't finely tuned at all as the article says but 2013 is, so if you actually played last years game and were frustrated by a few things you may want to consider 2013 as its a far better experience.
I agree the story wasn't amazing. When it ended I was thinking is that it. I was expecting much more variety in the final heist, for example boats rarely got a look in in the whole game. I just felt there were so many more mission varieties that rockstar past on to make it an all time classic game for me, and finally I found it a bit easy. The auto aim should have definitely been mandatory, but it was a very easy game to complete.

Rockstar should add surfing next time. Those amazing waves went to waste.
My gta online review: man gets out of a car and shows me his palms. Then there's a loading screen then another man gets out of a car and shows me his palms then there's a loading screen that lasts forever until I switch the machine off. The story is a bit weak, but the graphics are nice. 10/10
Gta v online will be around a long time. I'm sure nobody will remember not being able to log on in the first 3 hours of it launching in a months time.
If I can't get on, I'll just play the single player side missions seeing as I waited five years for the game to come out I might as well enjoy everything there is to see.
It's ok the PC brigade saying console gamers can't have this and that but neither can PC users. The massive leaps in gaming always come when a new console cycle begins, because the developers always make game engines suitable to the lowest common denominator whether that be an Xbox 360 or someone with an ageing PC.
The only thing people with top end pc's get is better frame rates and textures over everyone else so those with Alienware mega computers are waiting fo...

I can't believe nobody has done the gta in space idea yet. I mean just being a bounty hunter like Han Solo and turning big space stations into something the size of a city with hover cars is just so awesome of an idea not to do it.
Id have been far more interested in watch dogs if it had done something fresh like the above.

Probably because data from the game disk you installed is being streamed from the HDD at the same time as data from the DVD drive. If you install both disks, hence running both from the HDD it could slow the game down too much and cause performance issues.
If i downloaded this on my broadband gta 6 would be out before it finished. This is why microsofts plans were doomed. Too many people still with naff broadband speeds.
I think people will gladly give up a few minutes of story to be able to see how the gameplay mechanics work. This video was great because I can really see how the gameplay has evolved from 4 and it looks amazing.

@abzdine gta4 was slightly overrated but it was still one of the best games this gen. Just walking about the city and seeing the world go by elevates gta4 above 95% of other games and rockstars reputation is one of consistently churning out quality games for years.
Square enix hit the jackpot with FF7 but they have done nothing since in nearly fifteen years, so they have never been a developer where you can buy a game without reading reviews first, not for me anyway.
Just ignore them. It will be some 50+ year old bloke who thinks gaming is for children and therefore cannot be compared or held in the same regard as other forms of entertainment. Once everyone over the age of 50 dies or has no influence on society anymore, (so in the next 15 years or so) that's when gaming will be accepted amongst everyone as a viable form of entertainment.
