Sony would be stupid not to profit from PSN. If they offer it for free, I guess the money eventually gets to that department as long as they keep PS3 reasonably priced.
x360 may not include Bluray, Bluetooth, built in wi-fi or whatever else have you but it also doesn't require those things TO PLAY GAMES.
The core of the Xbox experience is GAMING. PS3 sells you living room appeal, and gaming takes a backseat to the total overall "home entertainment" experien...
Easy explanaition: she lived and worked in an era where people paid insane prices for software licenses and had to keep 300 CD keys on hand to install them all when her system crashed.
I hope Ubuntu (and with it Linux) go INSANELY mainstream, as that will mark an entirely new era. Premium software will always have its place, but I hope open source really takes off.
Take that, teach!
I think that's a whole different kinda ass, my friend. Don't go animal, PLEASE!
I have Starz, and yep that's what they all do. The movies are only available for a certain amount of time. For me though that's alright, as they're just rentals anyway. If you want the movie just go get it on disc. Or get a Qflix drive on your PC!
In 2007, Games For Windows was supposed to be Microsoft's way of enlivening PC gaming. It was only moderately successful, and only really delivered when SP 1 launched earlier this year, with its performance oriented fixes and Direct X 10.1. Of course, you STILL need new hardware and Crysis STILL whips...painfully.
The problem with PC gaming isn't in the OS, it's the system.
Everyone who buys/builds PCs will still be slowly upgrading their systems every year just to be ...
If you're looking for a date, like FOR REAL a date, then do it elsewhere. Xbox Live and PSN were mean to be social and cool, but always be aware that there are many age groups and cultures joining in on the fun. Make the wrong move, or say the wrong thing and you can wind up in trouble. BIG time. Especially if that was your intent in the first place (BIG no-no).
Xbox Live users especially should be wary, as being banned from XBL shafts you by not refunding the money you pay month...
I have Hardy Heron 64bit on a live CD, I tried it out. Ubuntu is actually pretty solid, but the open source nature of it all is more for those who can be their own tech support. In a completely foreign environment as well!
Any PC builder or programmer should give Ubuntu a try. If you're already too familiar with Windows/Mac, you can try the OS out without installing it. It's not that hard to understand, but my main issue is with certain hardware drivers that WEREN'T/AREN'T meant ...
I ran Vista on my old AMD Sempron 2400/ATi Radeon x1600 system and it ran like a breeze! And that system lacked PCIe, S-ATA, and dual core!
I currently have an Intel C2D "Merom" t5250/nVidia GeForce 8600m GS notebook PC. As for desktop, AMD Phenom x4 9850/ ATi Radeon HD4850.
I'm going to get an HP Mini 1000 netbook, since they're so small and convenient. They currently only ship with MIE (HP's custom Linux OS) or Windows XP, but I'm sure I can get Vista run...
I thought about this once. Windows 7 will be much easier to migrate to...that is of course if you're migrating from Vista. People still on xp might give Vista a try, just to see how the new platform PERIOD will perform.
Or, you could just dual boot! Or run virtualization software (what I do).
It's great for going back and using a second Guest OS inside of your Host OS for those programs that just aren't working for any reason. The main trade-offs being that it's not tr...
They sure do look happy together, I hope for best! I don't think marriage is anyone else's concern but the people involved. If this is how they feel they should commit to each other, then let it be.
Marriage is neither more nor less sanctified just because of the means. Some guys can't afford diamond rings while some buy 3 of them. Some people just want to get it done and over with, while others may plan an entire day's worth of activities and events.
I think it was a pretty good year. NXE was the best, seeing as how it makes significant improvements on the user experience. I'm happy to see that the Xbox team is working for the money.
Gears 2 was my pick, but NXE proves that Microsoft isn't just sitting by and letting the world move on from 2005. That to me is worth more than any game.
I keep IE as my default browser, but I use Firefox more. IE is actually safer because of Protected Mode, and File Virtualization should be able to keep everyone safe anyway. Safari is pretty good too! I just hate having to install various add-ons and plug-ins for EACH browser, it would be nice if they all use the same ones.
Most of the stuff done in a browser stays in the temp folder, just keep it that way. Don't save things you download to any other place than your documents. Th...
This sounds like me, though I'm not certain about the marriage part just yet. I really fell for this girl...LOVE ALWAYS!
edit: hey, she's amazing. she ain't no butterface either!
Agreed! Not every gamer out there is a slobbering mess of sock sweat and cheetos (no disrespect to those who are).
I would think now more than ever gamers really need fat wallets to be able to afford gaming. And hos. And they are in a lot better shape, not Levis Model shape but okay shape.
What's up with the Sony fans, I thought you all said "square enix was inferior to level 5"? You guys go through some serious PMS (playstation mental syndrome). I'm glad that I'm not that narrow minded.
On topic, Versus looks amazing though there's obviously more to be seen in the future. Mostly, we've seen much more FFxiii than Versus for the last few years. FFxiii looks to be the game that pulls me back into the FF franchise.
The Home People (?) look great, they just aren't as cool or as stylized as the Miis or Avatars.
I'm not bashing it...I guess Home will help you refine a slew of polygons into something that resembles you. But that's not MY idea of "fun". Therefore, it does not interest me nor does it appeal to me.
I played Home on my PC in 2000. It was called The Sims.
Give me an innovation that Home introduces that hasn't already been done before!
Hotmail, for years has let you play games with people online either through your IM chat window or in a browser. Windows XP shipped with an online version of checkers.
Kongregate is a great site for doing just the same, of course there isn't much in the way of "social gathering" other than the chat window.
Here is Gears: **********
Here is Gears2: ****************************** *****************
It improves upon EVERY aspect of the game. Seriously, NOTHING in Gears can prepare you for Gears2. Except for maybe the chainsaw and cover system. I loaded Gears2 on Hardcore for my first playthrough, thinking "Oh yeah, I beat Gears on Insane. I can do this". Wrong! There's some real meat to chew through to master Gears2. Just the new addition of stopping power to the guns a...
I have no doubt that Home is going to be well received for those who want it. It might even bring over people who didn't give 2 sh*ts before. But as a whole, XBL is head and shoulders above anything PSN has to offer.
Well, except for PSone downloads...I like that, a lot. (Sorry, but there were MANY PSone games that I miss today. Playing them on a PSP is even cooler!)
I think that its great news, I'm a MAJOR fan of the series and I always regarded the original MP as the best in the series. MP:2 Echoes I think came just as close, and in some areas beat the original.
Yes, it was kind of a generic "light and dark" theme. But that didn't make it any less challenging or fun to play. Personally, I liked when Samus first visits Dark Aether and finds out that the atmosphere was harmful. That, to me, is how you make a twist on gameplay!
