not true, it's just ms taking steps to keep ahead of the curve. it doesn't mean that they expect more failures and it doesn't mean that x360 is poorly built. if YOU had a stake in the multibillion dollar gaming industry wouldn't YOU do the same to keep your customers confident in their purchases?
launch x360 lasted me almost 3 years before i upgraded to a 60gb model, which was purchased in october and hasn't failed yet.
i had 2 playstations go out on me before finishing ff7. it happens to everyone, no matter how much you spent on it. no matter who made it. that's why they have returns and replacements policies.
expose any console to you peoples' troll dungeons of sock sweat and cheetos and see which one lasts.
honestly, that's why i have my entertainment center in a more temperate (if not more sociable) location: the living room!
and turn the air on, jeez!
because God said "let's show who's got who by the balls".
it's cool to feel all patriotic, but it's not like you've won something.
unless Sony sees your support and sends you an app to get a job there, but come on...those guys don't actually PLAY their own stuff, they just zoom up by you in there aston martins and wave hi.
to them it's just their job. so why make it your life?
never heard of x360...that's okay, 29mil+ already have.
you'll be number 30,000,000 in no time ;)
halo3 owns because of tight FPS gameplay and superb online multiplayer.
the REAL meaning of gaming over graphics. and bungie STILL delivered on graphics anyway. the game shines even today.
i love gears 2 as well! the maps are just incredible and the combat is brutal.
annex on tyro station is still my favorite paradox. gotta get to the ring...uh oh, train coming!
look, it's on both sides, but it's the few ps3 fans (not ALL of them) that dominate this site in hopes that they can stifle x360 from existence that make this site terrible. and it's a petty dream...the number of registered n4g members isn't even 1% of either console's audience.
x360 fans have to fight back because otherwise ps3 fans would add 5 more rumors to the list just so that they could further ruin x360's rep.
umd was a great idea to fight piracy, similar to gamecube's mini-dvds.
i remember paying $100 for a 1GB memory stick back in 2006 and then downloading psp's first DLC game demo, Loco Roco. i liked the idea of having better load times AND battery life. of course, even back then 1GB wasn't much to work with and i stuck to my iPod 60GB for music and videos.
give us psp2 with built-in SSD storage and then maybe we might see nintendo sweat a little. maybe even apple will ...
honestly, they match quality in almost every category. especially games. there are really good exclusives on both consoles that compliment each other quite well.
you really have to give microsoft a lot of respect here though. for a console that launched in 2005 and still maintains a steady following already well into 2009 despite having the same looming shadow of playstation as the dreamcast did in 2001, xbox 360 continues to the drive the game home.
and the key was ...
i think soul calibur 4 is still my favorite fighting game. but it just barely narrows out dead or alive 4.
doa4 is still number 1, although vf5 came pretty close. but i'm really interested in what comes AFTER sf4! seriously, they can take the engine and update some of their other hit arcade games.
doa4 was 2005, gosh...time really flew.
um, disagrees? so i DONT think doa4 is number 1? wow, you guys are lame.
every developer builds their stuff on pcs. but the working game is almost always shown running off the console. there are exceptions of course. i'm very sure though that this is all running off x360 power.
who says x360 maxed out!
that pic has no taste. seriously, where's the monkey? you've got to have the monkey SOMEWHERE in there!
him versus the old lady.
"you got a problem? i don't see a problem?!"
and that old lady PUNCHES IT MAN!!!!
yeah, crash should've been up there.
here's the formula: it depends on the audience. who you ask.
mgs: VERY rated M game. what responsible parents buy MGS for their kids? also the controls and mechanics aren't as user friendly. it takes a real MGS player to get into the quirks and nuances of the MGS style of things. an acquired taste if you will. you have to be an intellect to fully enjoy Kojima's masterpieces.
halo: VERY NOT rated M game. i even know church girls who've played halo3. it's one of the ea...
go see just about any b action movie and mix in a little tomb raider. same dialogue preferences, same mark wahlberg/action movie star wannabe hairstyle, same oneliners. i mean even max payne did it better than this guy. max payne deserves notice BEFORE this guy.
it's a fun game but you can find the same characters in "burn notice". the young guy, the old guy, and the girl. only difference being that girl in burn notice is hotter.
i've known ps3 fanboys who've found their nirvana since gaming on x360.
we are? wow! talk about being presumptuous.
i guess people can't speak for themselves anymore huh.
The point of these things isn't to stir up debate, it's just a bunch of guys who are trying to see patterns in game development. And they're getting interesting results!
There's more to games than pixels, I agree. Yes I approved the article, but not as flamebait. Just info.
dude the problem is that you can just SAY that you know 3-4 people that have had this or that console fail...and WHICH CONSOLE you say will determine who believes you.
if that's how it is that's just immature.
