yeah, but innovations come as a collaborative effort. from many companies. intel may be a world leader, but they are not the originator. they are not the master. they are a piece of the equation. if not for amd's efforts in maintaining focus in the mid-range sector, we'd all be stuck paying for intel's expensive prices. amd/ati has been proven to be a successful merger between two companies who deliver outstanding quality, performance and pricing. right now, i'm on an hp dv9535 notebook pc. I...
Buy what you want for what you have. Don't make other people's lives sh8t for not having what you have.
PS: why do i see a trend of 360 gamers having fewer bubbles than ps3 gamers? a fine example of trying to stifle the right to chose what we want to say, by keeping our speech limited. are ps3 gamers THIS desperate?!
iv'e owned
geforce2 mx 200 (pci, 32mb sdr)
geforce fx 5200 (agp, 64mb ddr)
ati radeon x1600 (agp, 512mb ddr2)
right now, im on a geforce 8600m GS (pci-e x16, 256mb ddr2), but that's only because it's in a laptop. i've owned only one ati but i just felt so much happier when I did. recenltly i've constructed a new desktop from the ground up around ati/amd. i've gone red, baby!
you could get more for your money with amd/ati. Phenom Quad vs Intel Core2 Duo. 4 cores for the same price as 2. Plus, ATI's Radeons are equally competitive to nVidia's offerings. the 3870x2 has been a remarkable success and a popular upgrade in the custom pc sector. get 2 of those in crossfire and you've got 4 gpus. run a quad crossfire and you've got 8!
intel and nvidia have the marketing strength, but added with that is the extra you pay to get what is essentially LESS for you...
Everyone knows that this whole thing has cost MS valuable credibility. So, in spite of all the good they've done this gen, this was the Achilles Heel they've been forced to limp on for some time. And guess what?!
They have limped on...and on...and on! They NEVER accepted defeat. They pressed onward.
I want you all to look up The Mojave Experiment for a good look at what they've had to do in response to people's negative, and blatantly prejudice views of Windows Vista...
rrod...haven't come across it yet. is it something real? honestly, i've had my console since 05/06. i was thinking of getting a ps3 this year, but instead am looking at a 360 elite. 120 gbs sounds tempting! and waiting for the opus board might sound like a better option, if this rrod is really much of a concern to anyone.
i can't be without grid for too long, so if rrod does exist in the way you people are saying then maybe i should be scared. i'll buy another 360...anything to s...
yeah, ps3 got stuck with a standard shader array gpu. its pipes can't redirect coming ops based on workload, which means SEVERELY decreased efficiency when games begin to switch concentration of either vertex or pixel performance. though, the 7series based chip in the ps3 DOES have superior pixel performance, and just a tad higher fillrate.
still, i know that ati/amd have made a real killing. go to newegg, look up intel and amd cpus. at comparable pricing, i can get a 4 core amd ...
790fx am/am2 based board
amd phenom x4 9850
ati radeon hd 3870x2 (or hd4850) dual in crossfire
8gb mushkin ddr2 1066

intel bye bye, nvidia bye bye
i'm talking about the game it's self.
the game it's self not the demo.
and ps3 gamers don't buy 360 games for their ps3s....NOR will they say anything good towards them, because there on 360 right?
it says right hear.

called warm coffee:) i wanna see THAT land in the courts, lol!
yeah, i kinda see mgs4 as a a real console pusher but its sales didn't enter halo3's hallowed ground. they should've waited till this winter, an oct/nov release would've put PS3 inline for ONE HELL of a winter season. they pulled the card at the wrong time.
an upgrade of a 10/10 means an 11/10:)
is this the whole "3rd fist" thing? yes, i would definitely be scared of a man whose rumored to have no chin under his beard, and instead has a 3rd fist.
Actually, PS3 does have some hardware faults. Its RSX is based on the Geforce 7 series, whose direct ATI competitor at the time was the Radeon x1xxx series. The Xenos inside the 360 is based off ATI's HD 2xxx series, being a FULL generation ahead of the PS3's "standard shader array" GPU. Xenos has a universal shader array.
edit:
yes cellbe can alleviate the RSX's poor performance. but that will always mean the CellBE's provably superior architecture will wa...
Go to open zone. Vent. Now come back here and let's have a civilized discussion.

...yes, whoops! I deserved that one. Chop!
flame bait. what, if i just happen to own a ps2 do i now plan a commemorative funeral for it?! do i now dance around its grave?! do i lay flowers over its casket?! why all this personification of machines? i own a 360 and it's stupid to hear people say that it's "dead". can't you just NOT like it and NOT be be so uptight about ME liking it?
