I was all in agreement with you about the sex stuff. DON'T turn this into another flamewar. I agreed with you on each comment.

Im surprised there people who still don't know the answer to this one.

No matter how many times you ask, its sex.

But I would hope that MS's putting my Live Gold money to better use than that. I've heard about their dashboard overhaul, which is good plus. And getting FF13 probably had little to do with financial bribery, and more to do with install base and mass audience/market appeal. Bribery doesn't become the honorable men we'd like to believe these guys are. But sure, business is business.

It might make it over to 360. I mean, once you have committed resources to developing software on another platform, you have all the more reason to consider it for future releases. Square would see only a positive profit from releasing their top tier titles on 360 as well.

And for those who say that 360 will contribute to the degradation of PS3's offering, I say don't kid yourself. Money is money, but Square was NEVER a halfassed developer. Its PS3 dev team has had years of livin...

I don't see a reason why this has to be about loyalty. In truth, nobody owes nobody sh!t. Sure, because of PSX square gained ground in the rpg genre. But it could easily be the way other way around. Sony owes Square A LOT for press leading up to FF7's release.

(history holds that its announcement debunked the possibility of an n64 version, and they even released advertisements saying that "if it was released on n64, it would take like 6 cartridges and cost $1000")

Sony probably let the exclusitivity on this one slip due to their rising interest and development in American and European gaming interests (like FPSs, 3rdPS, action adventure, platformers). But it's not just as easy as saying that this was Sony's fault. It just proves that software companies can have plans that differ from what people have been lead to believe.

Damn...what a twisted fate, and how cruel she can be.

When read correctly, you should have all come to the CORRECT conclusion that japan gets it first as a PS3 ONLY, then US and Europe get it as MULTIPLATFORM. So, for the PS3 fanboys in here that say they'll still get it first, only in Japan will that be true. In US and EU they'll be multipltform but ONLY after nippon otakus get a crack at it on PS3.

So...just fly over to Japan and get it there to be among the first, or import it from Amazon! And then, like 99 years later when it ...

yeah i know. fanboys on either side are too damned quick to call judgement and say its game over for the opposition. and cmrbe you're totally right. ff has always been respected, but that won't stop the possibility of something else rising up to the top.

NEVER underestimate the power of a killer app. and NEVER think that the top selling games will always stay there. the future always holds something "bigger, better, and more badassed".

someone said that...

It's going to be multiple discs, yeah so what. It's still going to have a final product that will truly be representative of Square's commitment to quality, finesse, and expertise. Not just some port over, or halfassed tossed around idea. Multiple discs didn't stop Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon from singlehandedly winning 360 the crown for jRPGs. Of course, PS3 will ultimately become synonymous with japanese interest...it's a given. But as of late, Sony's aim has been to appeal to more American...

So, they managed to pull this one off! Hardly saw it coming, but good news nonetheless. I'd like to see its progress.

Actually, now that you think about it...I think we all could've seen this this one coming. I mean, that's probably why ff13 had such a low profile since those last screens and trailers.

"...has been delayed..."

I think you can try and be a little more mature with the argument. Games get delayed for numerous reasons. I do recall an awesome MGS4 trailer that had a screen that said 2006, replacing it with 2008 and then scratching again and putting 2007.

So...when did this game come out again?

6450d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I just hope they have something so hidden that nobody ever saw it coming. In this day and age, surprises don't go too long before their spoiled. I mean, I must've seen enough trailers on MGS4 to have spoiled a lot of its story, which can really dampen the experience.

I remember the only news on gaming I ever used to get would be screens in magazines every month that would be a month old anyway. There were demo discs for a time, and they would usually pack in some trailers and stu...

Show wherein the fault lies, and where one "has been weighed...has been measured...and has been found wanting"

Dictionary? Hm...you look up the origins, definitions, and proper usage of words in a dictionary. Not how to carry a sophisticated conversation. And if I did go a few syllables more than you could process, I'm sorry.

I must take pity on those who do not yet command the verbal and literal skills I do.

You people always get this one confused!

What's the difference between OPEN architecture and CLOSED architecture?. Okay then! So, a console that's going to live its entire life sitting on your desk DOESN'T NEED to have its memory partitioned in any special way. It won't gain anything from doing so. And the only complaint that ANYONE can have of the 360 is that it's GDDR3 and not XDR.

Now, answer me this: what would be faster, a single of pool of XDR or a split between ...

In your misguided attempt at humor, you have incorrectly used dual language in your mightily meager quest at stabbing at someone with what I can only assume was a "dull knife" in the first place. Sharpen your wits, get off of your moms tits, and grow a sac: real men use their minds to prove their words, and not their foul mouths to prove their mind.

It's true that memory would be where the PS3 would be at a great disadvantage. But people need to stop trying to make this into another debate over which console is superior, and be more objective with the argument. Something everyone needs to realize is that no console (even the PS3) is perfect. For all practical purposes, these are machines designed to do one thing really.

Play games, is that it? Nope. Make money.

And either company will do it by whatever means neces...

It takes real bravery to stand up in opposition of people who so vehemently believe in something. My advice to believers: stop trying to block out the "other" and try to acknowledge the possibility of beliefs other than your own. My advice to non-believers: stop trying to tell me that I'M wrong, when we BOTH can be wrong.

i think all this console bashing just comes as a form of trying to feel like your territory is protected. like wolves in a pack all defending their turf. problems is...the more wolves that do it, it all looks like a silly and desperate cluster fvck.

if someone feels the need (this bad) to stick up for their console, they're just admitting that they put too much a priority on the console, and not enough on the games. why should it matter which one has better hardware, better games...

Sega could see a huge benefit, one being able to work closer with ms gamestudios and having access to better dev resources/funding. I don't think their products would have to become exclusive to 360, but we all know that just may end up being the case.

It's probably a step in the right direction for them, if they want to survive this gen. They could possibly recover and further prosper from such a decision...

...and re emerge as a partner in future Xbox projects....
