The phony conversation online consistently calls for Playstation to bring back their dormant ip. The reality is those games weren't purchased then and they'd be ignored now. I have Astobot pre-ordered (wish it had a vr mode). Lets see now that it's reviewed so well, if gamers are true to their word in wanting Sony to make more of these types of games.
@Neonridr, who cares. I didn't buy the game but why would anyone insult those who did for wanting to get the platinum trophy if they're into acquiring those.
@Luccastack grow up, the console wars are over. "Sony incels"? Get a grip.
@Chocoburger, who are you to judge them so harshly? So what they enjoy playing the game they bought and wany to fully complete it before it goes away indefinitely what wrong with that? The negative energy around this game is weird.
@Christopher, but gamers play these types of games, I don't for the most part but huge amounts of gamers do. My understanding is that the game is technically sound but antiquated and nobody was interested.
@ The Wood, this is such nonsense thinking. Sony would be derelict in their responsibilities as a company to not try their hand at producing the type of games that make the most money by far on their platform. There is no such thing as garunteed success (even single-player games which can cost way more to produce) if you're to afraid of failing then never try anything.
This was the best outcome of a bad situation. Game didn't garner any consumer support so instead prolonging the inevitable they pulled the cord (pun intended) right away and gave refunds. Lessons will be learned from this game and hopefully for any future gaas game projects of theirs.
I just have no interest in trying this game out, I didn't even try the open beta. Has nothing to do with characters or anything, im just not into most online multi-player games. Playing BMWK now, have AstroBot pre-ordered. Warhammer SM 2 is next.
I've been playing the game and enjoying it and I have not read JttW.
A price increase caused the ps5 to sellout? People were just waiting for prices to go up before buying I guess. Lol
Day zero!!! Hope pre-ordering isn't as kaotic as when the ps5 launched
"Fools"? Lol. Get informed, these lives service game absolutely make more profit than single player games. Why do you think Sony has finally started to invest in gaas games, for fun?
ND stated that they did not want to invest the time and resources it would take to launch and support a live service game, which was a wise decision. I think Factions as a project should be transferred over to the Concord developers with ND providing oversight. Might as well since the long-term viability of Concord is in serious doubt.
Nope, Grubb has been correct most of the time recently. The ps5pro is coming people, I know it's not what xbox fans want to hear.
@Lightning, you have no idea how far those games, progressed or the viability of them long term no point in speculating. Part of investing for the first time is learning what works and what doesn't which Sony stated when announcing this gaas initiative. The question was how is Sony not being held to account here.
@Obscure, the "playstation fanbase" wants all types of games, including gaas games, given the money spent on them annually. Playstation has stated why they're investing in these types of games because they hadn't done so previously, and they want to diversify their portfolio. You can fault them for apparently not picking a winner in Concord, but the investment makes complete sense based on where gamers spend their money in the market.
@Lightning77 blame Sony for what? Is there something wrong with Concord on a technical level like with Redfall. By all accounts from those who have played and or are currently playing it is that the game runs great. The fact that it has little to no appeal on steam or elsewhere appears to be the verdict that gamers don't want to buy this game. Nobody can know that really until it's released/shown off and the public has a chance to make their decision
which they now have. Wha...
Sony's biggest mistake was so publically promoting and highlighting their gaas strategy. It created a big fat target on all these games needlessly.
Shift their focus? Lol. The online hate campaign is unsurprising that's what "gamers" do these days.
"Take notice"? They developed, published and promoted the game. It's their game, lol. This "Sony is only chasing gaas games now and abandoned single player games" has always been a bunch of nonsense.
