My advice is; if you can't get a Wii U in time for Christmas then save the money, if it's for your kid get them a gift card with enough money for the console on it (if you're able to put that much on them). Get them something cheap to play with on the day. Don't use the money to get a different console, no other device capable of gaming is as good as the Wii U, just have patience.

Well yeah sorry 'best' was probably the wrong word to use. It is a better console than 360 or PS3 in my opinion but I realise most people will disagree with my opinion.
I seem to remember something being said about developers having to implement their own accomplishment system if they wanted one.
They will definitely be better than the Wii U in terms of graphics but ass-whoopingly so? Sony and Microsoft have stated plenty of times they won't be massive graphical leaps but then again even if they are, graphics have never 'won' a console generation, it's always been the best console that 'wins'.
It's a Wii game. Dragon Quest seems to have become Nintendo exclusive over the past few years. It's not exactly a bad thing.
The Wii had some great graphics when developers actually tried to push the console. One of the biggest problems were that developers didn't want to try make a great game on the console.
If only Nintendo could see this, they could pretty much take it and make it look more professional and it'd shift a lot more units.
There's plenty of games on the other consoles because they've been out for so long. There weren't many games for Wii/360/PS3 when they first came out and they did fine and none of them had a price cut. Wii U will do fine.

I don't know what game will be the first one I actually play but ZombiU will be the first disc that enters my console so I can take a zombie pic of myself.
Actually a couple of months ago the Wii U would have made a profit on every system. It's the change in the exchange rate across all regions that has made it sell at a loss.
You can't expect to have a lot of games that aren't ports at the launch of a system. Some developers haven't had a lot of time with the console and porting is a quick way to get a game out whilst introducing themselves to it before making something from the ground up, not to mention they won't want to risk losing money making a full game for the Wii U until it has an established fanbase.

It is a shame, a game like GTA:V would be a definite system seller and a great addition to an already fantastic launch window line-up. I'm sure it'd sell enough systems for it to be worth while for R*. I don't think it's a definite no as of yet, maybe they'll just wait till the end of the launch window and see how the Wii U does. I hope it does eventually come to the system, if the game has the annoying phone thing from IV then the gamepad would be great as the interface f...

@DoomeDx - I know you're trying to be sarcastic with the FPS comment but most first person shooters pretty much are the same game just with a different setting.

The features mentioned were being worked on before the console was announced last year. They're still working on making the features better, the update is so users get the latest versions of them.
