And what is outselling PS3?
That's 1 point for Nintendo.
@Ippiki Okami, The Wii U and PS4 are both 8th gen consoles. Just because one is more powerful doesn't mean it's the better console e.g 6th gen PS2 was the weakest of the gen but it was the best. I have a Wii U and it's great, the PS4 looks great as well which is why I'm probably going to get one. Either way if this game has awesome gamepad features I'll probably get the Wii U version.
The biggest problem with the PS4 is that it's overpowered. No 3rd party dev is ever going to use all that power especially not if the 720 is weaker than it, they'll probably do what they do now and develop their game for Microsoft's console and just put a straight port on Sony's console. The specs for the PS4 probably won't need to be on a home console until the 9th gen. All Sony have done here is make sure it'll be even more expensive at launch than the PS3 was and lo...
I'd love to see pretty much all of those franchises make an appearance this gen on Wii U and 3DS. I think if Nintendo really capitalise on their franchises (I mean using all of them, reviving old ones like with Kid Icarus rather than just having a bunch of Mario games and creating new ones) then they can stand up to PS4/720 no matter how much power those two have. I don't know about anyone else but the main reason I buy a Nintendo console even without knowing the full specs is because...
Dualshock 4: Pushing the boundaries of play by copying Nintendo.
Did you see the PS4 announcement? Wii U could run every game shown at the event.
No the main difference is Sega didn't have the money to keep going in the hardware side of things after the Dreamcast's failures. If the Wii U flops Nintendo have the money to just carry on.
The Wii U will be able to keep up with PS4/720 for a while. Games on consoles get better over time as developers get use to the architecture. In a year or two games on the Wii U will look a lot better than they do now just like PS3/360 games look better now compared to when they were first released.
I don't think the difference between PS4/720 and Wii U will be as big as the difference between PS3/360 and Wii. By the time the PS4/720 are released Wii U games will probabl...
Can't wait till all the Famicom games are available, I just wish this was a sign that we'll be getting a new F-Zero on Wii U at some point in the future.
This just proves everyone who thinks we don't need new consoles yet wrong. If you need a stupid amount of discs for a game then your console just isn't good enough.
It'll probably fade into obscurity. In about 10 years or so some people will be like "Remember that Smash Bros. game that had Playstation characters?" but most people won't remember it ever happened.
>Names article "Top 3 Confirmed Next-Gen Games"
>Doesn't list any next gen games...
I never mentioned the PS4 or the 720. I said the Wii U is better than their favourite console. The PS4 and 720 aren't available yet so it's impossible for them to be anyone's favourite console. The Wii U is better than any console available.
Monolith Soft are 2nd party. Only in house IPs are 1st party such as Mario, Zelda etc. Games made by Nintendo's subsidiaries are 2nd such as Kirby, Xenoblade etc.
Most consoles release at a price that is 'too high' without many system selling games. PS3/360 were both more expensive than they were worth and didn't have any more system sellers than the Wii U does, look at them now. If the Wii U does what they have done over the past 7/8 years then Nintendo are on to a winner.
One of the biggest reason are because Sony/MS fanboys take up a lot of the market. They can't get it into their heads that Nintendo are capable of making hardware that's better than their favourite console.
Gearbox, Rocksteady, Ubisoft, Platinum, Square Enix, Disney, Treyarch, NetherRealm, Travellers Tales, Criterion, Team Ninja, Capcom, 5th Cell, Atlus, Sega, Activision, Namco Bandai, not to mention the numerous eShop games.
No absolutely no 3rd party support there.
If the Wii U flops Nintendo can easily recover. They have enough money to flop for the next few generations and still be in business.
You Nintendo haters are funny. They have the best selling console of all time, the best selling console of the 3rd, 4th and 7th gen. Sony fanboys and Microsoft fanboys go on about how much better Sony and MS are yet every gen those two copy Nintendo whether it's with motion controls (They made the Move/Kinect respectively after going on for ages before the consoles were released about how it'll never catch on, now Microsoft's favourite phrase is 'better with Kinect') or So...
