I tried to sign on to play some BF3 beta and download the Forza 4 demo - it didn't let me sign on. I checked the xbox.com support page, and it said that there were issues signing in - nothing about accounts, matchmakin...
Just the specific details - mostly the foliage, the ground pattern, the pop-ins etc.
Also, the areas on the map where you can "hide" under the map, but still shoot as if you were prone (near A in the first phase), a certain section of train tracks in the middle tunnel, a stairway during the last phase, all have areas where you can "leave" the map, but still interact with everyone playing.
The player detail is supberb, the guns are "eh...
Where CAN'T you trade games in for other games? Almost every games retailer now accepts trade ins (Best Buy just revamped their games department, most every game has higher value than GS).
I traded Fable III, Killzone 3, Fallout 3 and MLB The Show 11 to amazon for $100, 25 bucks each averaged out...
I think they may add a 10 or 20 credit here in the next week or two to get the last few "on the fence" buyers - which is why I'm still waiting to place my pre-order.
While the fact that he didn't mention graphics specifically concerns me a little, everything else makes perfectly good sense - it's a TRUE beta (not a glorified demo...) and they need actual information to make the game better.
I just hope that everything is months old - graphics included, because it's getting close to ship time, and delaying this game would kill all sales and momentum if it lapses after the holiday.
The same reason they change how anything works... more efficient, more streamlined, less resources, more functionality... etc.

Your point has SOME merit, but not much. Getting short-term hits for falsifying a headline will get you a little bit of cash for a day or three, but continuously putting out well researched, well edited and actually important articles will get you long term hits, which equates to long term revenue.

I think you misunderstand what Gears is all about then... it was always a shotgun whorefest... we knew that after 2 days of Gears 1.
It's not supposed to be a tactical super realistic game... never was.
@Cosmit - a $250-300 upgrade to a "regular" PC will get you to run The Sims on high graphics...
$300 barely covers the graphics card...
I explained why it sucks in the second paragraph... I paid $35 (and $41 total if I get the "pre-order" stuff) while those who pre-ordered, paid full retail, and only got $6 worth of bonus stuff ($54 net).
Just a "hindsight" kind of look at it all. Usually games don't go 40% off 2 weeks after release.
I know that I would have been ticked off if I paid full retail, and then it was $35 after 2 weeks - only because $25 is a decent chunk...
What part of "console" in the title don't you understand?
Good for you, you have a gaming PC - you spent way more than we did... congrats. Your game on low settings is probably equivalent to our games on consoles.

I'm not a graphics whore (more of a story and gameplay whore) but I might be buying BF3 on the PS3 instead of 360 - I usually get multiplats on my 360 - partly to justify the price of XBL to my wife, partly because I like the 360 pad better for FPS, but mostly because most of my friends get all their multiplats for 360.
