Except for the fact that they are a HARDWARE company relying on third party games, besides the 3 juggernauts in Halo, Gears and Forza. They have RARE - where's Killer Instinct, where's the new Banjo Kazooie type games... where are the NEW IPs?
Halo is fun. Halo COULD occupy my gaming time from year to year, but I also want something ELSE to play.

@superman - unless they drop the current console to a $150 or $99 price point. It would still sell then - as an entertainment center mostly (netflix, hulu, HBO, Cinema Now, Blu Ray for PS3, etc...) but there'd be a few holdovers who pick a console up for $99

You can get a refurb slim 360 for less than the black tie costs alone...
You can add story - but you can't really add to the END of a story, because you'll eliminate the progression of those who don't purchase DLC. You may say "screw them" but there are far more people who don't buy DLC than there are that do in single player games.
If the game is good enough, single player DLC will be just fine. There's a delicate balance however - release too soon, and you get the "screw you for leaving this out of the original game..." rage. Release it too far after, and you have a large portion of the original community that has completed the game, and moved on to something else - possibly trading or selling the game.
I think if you have episodic content, that doesn't ADD to the story, but rathe...

So, because you "read" the article, you'd know that it wasn't about comparing the violence of all video games, but only violence within the Metal Gear series, and how RISING is much more violent and gory than previous titles in the series... and how it has nothing to do with other games (like Mortal Kombat...).
