This game is probably going to be worth checking out but I'm more excited for other games coming out this year. COD great and all but its been basically the same for the last two sequels. If they don't do something different I wont buy it.
I more looking foward to sequels to games like Uncharted or Bioshock.

The second I heard there was a Wii and PS2 version I knew not to expect too much. Sure, the game still has potential, but it is severely limited by being on those consoles. There are very few games that come out on PS3/360 + Wii/PS2 that turn out to be solid titles.

This movie just seems so unecessary, this games greatest weakness is its story. The MP is brilliant but the story is just downright uninspired - none of the characters are interesting.
The setting is so generic. It never really explains the significance of Gears taking place on a foriegn planet, why make that choice if you aren't going to do anything w/ it.

If they just release all the games they've been talking about forever, like DC universe, White Knight Chronicles, and this game, then '09 truly belongs to them.
The famitsu scores don't reflect that. But as far as current gen RPG's go, the bar has not been set very high.

I know Factor 5 is supposed to be one of the better devs making RPGs today but fact of the matter is that upon release in Japan it got mixed reviews.
Another thing I'm not so sure about are the graphics, I hear people praising them all the time but I have yet to see something praiseworthy.

I still consider GeoW1 one of my favorite next-gen games, and I can hardly see how Uncharted2 will change this. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Uncharted 2 will be fun, but lets be honest, Uncharted is more for SP and Gears is for MP.
For one, you can only hold 2 weapons in Uncharted. I have yet to see a sniper rifle in Uncharted(which was one of the best weapons from Gears).

Alot of the Xbox live arcade games are such poor quality they are hardly playable. That's the problem I'm seeing w/ XBLA games, they don't aim to be anything more than just that, an 'arcade game'.

I find it hard to believe that they would hold open beta testing for this game for multiplayer co-op, I think they have a standalone multiplayer in mind.
As much as I'd rather see them focus on SP, If ND can pull off a decent mp this game will easily be in the top 5 come end of the year. The best part is they wont be constricted w/ all that 256 players on a server nonesense.

From what I hear the fans are much to small - the PS3 fan is about 2x the size which means it doesn't have to revolve as fast in order to cool itself down.

Not only would Nathan Fillion be a heck of a lot easier to shedule(all he's got right now is some tv series), he would also be a heck of a lot CHEAPER than Mathew Mconachaey(don't care how he spells it)
The only thing that gives this rumor a bit of validity is the fact that Mconahay has previously starred in 2 action adventure romps as of late - Sahara and Fools Gold.
Gears of war 1 is better than KZ2 and Gears2 combined. I really don't think that PS3 has an exclusive that matches Gears1 in terms of multiplayer.
And sure GearsofWar2 multiplayer is broken, but KZ2's mp is far from perfect. Bullet Detection is awful(try playing w/ bots on normal and see what I mean - this is how good guerrilla thinks you should be). Basically, you pop your head out and your dead, no matter where the enemy is and what gun they're using.

And if they are going to give it a proper American release I'd rather wait for that - I'm just worried if I import it than I won't get trophies.

This story is blatantly false. There is no basis to this rumor, which got started when someone posted a story about a Gears movie and pasted a picture of the rock on it.
The whole reason the used a picture of the rock was because the story was about how a Gears movie could end up being terrible, and they were comparing it to doom, which starred the rock.
