BBC CANNOT drop HD DVD. As gameforall says, I think UK law prevents them from favoring either format. That is what I kept hearing when Warner dropped them.
Maybe they should start with Gizmodo, one of their sites, which is one of the most sexist (and therefore my favorite!) sites. I go to engadget for the real tech news.
For instance I have a Mitsubishi HD1000u front projector (DLP, 720p). RGB Full does not work with it, I had to use limited. If your display is not compatible, everything will be just too dark. No matter how much you turn up contrast (white level) or brightness (black level) things will appear to be too dark.
My Hitachi Plasma works fine with it however.
You do. You came in here to read it and reply.
Doesn't hurt to have another console. A black one will actually make me consider one. I know there are good games, but I am way too lazy to track one down for what games do exist. A black one, and I'm in
Not sure what the statute of limitations for suits is in Nevada, but it's at least one year. I can see Motorola suing Giz for damages. Don't know if they will, but they sure do have a cause of action.
No he is not a Nintendo nut, but he has a very very strong anti-Sony bias. This is very clear with his articles and he gets called out on every story he does. How is this story anti-Sony? I was just guessing because this is about a non-story as it can be. MS doesn't have anything going on, Nintendo didnt' have a booth, Blu-Ray just took over, so this is what he writes. Frank Caron, who loves all machines, is a much better and more objective writer.
This is what goes on at A...
Hmm, I'm surprised the economist jumped into this. The Economist is a hugely respected periodical of note.
Without even clicking it, I bet the author was Ben Kuchera. Can someone verify this (can't stand that guy).
hey, I'm a Dolphins fan. *Puts paper bag back on

You guys must be new to internet hot deals. Retailers hardly ever honor price mistakes (esp. if it hits the net so they catch it before it goes out because of a huge onslaught of orders). Their site normally disclaims price mistakes.
Either that or he's subliminally trying to imply that Sony is desperate, giving consumers more choices than before ;) j/k, this is a good option though, let's see if it affects sales and/or if it hits the states. I already have my 20gb so I'm set.
Without even getting into the meat and taters of your diatribe ... PS3 games come on Blu-Ray. There. Gaming.
Umm while there is no direct quote, the writer of the article attributes statements to the CEO. This was a conference call, and the HD Digest didn't post a full transcript.
"Warner Home Entertainment President Kevin Tsujihara says the studio took no pay-offs to exclusively back Blu-ray.
In a post-announcement conference call, Tsujihara flatly denied rumors that studio had accepted anywhere from 250M to $500M in exchange for dropping its HD DVD format suppor...
I ignore any article/blog/entry that keeps calling it Sony's Blu-Ray. I understand they are a major backer but it is not their Blu-Ray.
A whole article on Hidefdigest without one mention of LotR. WTF? That's the only thing on our minds, give us a timeframe!
They've actually commented on it before. Saying they hear the clamor, and are working on it. It wasn't total silence on the matter.
Lacie Heart. One of a few hot chicks in porn. Too bad netflix doesn't do porn!
Ryan Payton said it. The reason he said it is because following typical drop-off percentages, they need to sell 1M on day one. They need to sell more than 1M total to make a profit, rumors are it costs 70M to make. Figuring in the dev doesn't make $60 on a game (I'm not going to guess what the actual amount is) they factor in typical drop off purchase rates and that is the figure they came up with.
The wildcard is that the game doesn't drop off much, and by word of mouth peo...
