Funny you mention Spielberg, he prefers Blu-Ray too.

Why does Michael Bay's opinion matter? He might not be the definitive opinion, but it does matter. The fact you can say 'michael bay' without explaining who he is proves his opinion matters more than any of ours or other websites.

Transformers, no uncompressed or HD Audio, not enough space. Blu-Ray is superior on that front.

Lol, but it won't be for long if Al Gore has his way (being cold in the arctic circle that is).

Does anybody use those features? I want to watch the movie. I barely have time to do that, I definitely don't have time to watch the movie twice, and I wont let PIP or director commentary ruin my first viewing, so this is somethign I'm never going to use.

Does anyone use this? Instead of watching it the second time I can be playing games, which is hard to find time to do that as well!

No it's not worse, it's just different. Only 520 lines are refreshed each cycle, but you still get 1080 lines of information. 720 of course, you only 720, but it is refreshed each cycle. So 720p is probably better for fast action stuff, but 1080i will provide good detail etc. with movies etc.

2 to 1 in america, 9 to 1 in Japan, 4 to 1 in Europe. It isn't over but it isn't close either.

What's wrong with gamefaqs? I go there for their ... gamefaqs. Saved my butt a couple of times.

Mine works fine too, but I thought the definition of a brick is dead, kaput, brick. While people might have problems with reading discs with the update, they can do another update right? So it's technically not a brick, just can't read discs at the moment?

Or are we changing the definition of a "brick?"

Not your fault on this typo, but it's iSuppli not iSupply (Dailytech got it wrong)

How does this prediction jive with another recent prediction that the internet will be saturated by 2010 or 2012 or whatever, AND reports of ISP's throttling traffic .... hmmmmmmm?

Any award that nominates something that wasn't out yet (Mass Effect) loses all credibility.

I am a PS3 owner, and I love Blu-Ray movies and PS3 games. I own none of each. I rent everything from Gamefly and Netflix.

The conclusion of this poll is flawed. I care very much about those two, yet own none.

What were the graphical issues in COD4? Uncharted?

I think the falcons are getting toasted too. Notice there's been no reports of reduced failures because of Falcon?

I'm speculating of course.

You guys are forgetting the CD, proably the most successful format ever? And don't forget the 3.5" floppy! Hah! You guys forgot or didn't know about that one. People still use that crap.

Well what are Xbox fans saying now, since Mark Rein has said UTIII runs way better than Gears (UE3) engine last year?

@7.3, I think you got your technologies mixed up. LCD's have the lag/ghosting problem, not Plasmas. Regarding burn-in, Plasmas are ok for gaming as long as you are smart about it, but LCD does lead in this regard.

The two technologies have compressed together, where everything is close. Plasmas have better PQ all around, LCD's better for burn-in and brightness. Sony Bravias beat a lot of plasmas in PQ. They look good. But I dare anyone to say to anybody knowledgable that ...

I don't think he meant to get into the moniker that much. The playstation has dominated pop culture for the last decade or so. The "nintendo generation" didn't sell 200M consoles across the world. But you are correct the kids who grew up playing Nintendo are generally older of course.

No that's not what he's saying. He was saying there was concern among commentators and Army brass that the Playstation Generation (i.e. this video game playing generation) were not cut out for the military, War, etc. Essentially he was stating there was worry that this generation was a bunch of pansies who couldn't handle the war.

And he goes on to state the worries and concerns were unfounded.

Reading comprehension FTL!
