What if the HD DVD debater is better than the BDA debater? Then all of a sudden you have negative press. This isn't about facts of the war, but who is the better debater. No point in mucking it all up.
People buy the Ps3 for PS3 games. Unless you don't like Uncharted, R&C, etc. etc. etc.
Let me ask you this, why do people keep asking why people buy the PS3? I'd buy a PS3 just to play God of War franchise on it, alone. Not to mention the other games.
Uncharted areas in a popularized area is a nice twist though
National Treasure movie had some treasure hunting going on too.
Critical for developers, not for all gamers. Some don't mind paying extra for extra features. All gamers are not created equal.
I know who Tom's Hardware is, who Tom Pabst is, and their sites are not respected. Respected is Anandtech, Arstechnica, Tech Report, Xtremesystems et. al. I am in computer hardware forums more than gaming forums, THG and it's sister sites are ridiculed constantly. If anyone points to their site in an argument, you will get laughed at.
I even pointed out a blatant mistake they made right in the second paragraph. There is no 360 version even being worked on, yet Tom's Hardware...
Confucius said, "He who reads Tom's Hardware and believes, IS A FOOL!"
C'mon right in the preview, "... a simultaneous release on the Xbox 360, PC, and nearly the PS3 as well, cost Epic resources."
A simultaneous realease on the 360? You guys should have stopped reading right there (including the person who submitted the article).
Thanks but it still charged me shipping. No worries, I was on the fence until your post, just ordered one.
Razzy, that comment made my Monday morning, hillarious.

Lair wasn't major nor do I think it was rushed. It just sucked
Of course not. It wouldn't ruin it, just doesn't make them equal, which I find ironic when a site with audio in it's name doesn't mention when discussing a Consumer Reports, yes I said Consumer Reports article.
What serious audio or video phile site references CR?
This "dumbass" as you say is doing a decent job of turning around Sony
Transformers didn't have TrueHD/PCM. There wasn't enough space. Which I find funny that a site called AUDIOholics doesn't mention.
I don't know, think that CNBC reporter reads fanboy arguments? Sony lost the war VHS vs. Betamax (as mentioned). They have innovated some productst that maybe hasn't been a runaway success, but people are still buying Media Sticks, which as been around since 1998? That's about to be ten years, that sounds like a success to me, for Sony.
How about the CD as mentioned, probably the most successful format ever? 3.5" floppy disks, people still use that ish! UMD/Mini-Disc ...
News for Gamers, not news for gaming (strictly). Gamers have Blu-ray players and HD DVD add-ons, it's very relevant.
Lol so true. Don't forget girls, girls like the Wii too (double entendre not intended!)
Bladestar,
There was some speculation that HD DVD might have taken over overall sales because of the influx of those Toshiba HD-A2 players a week or so ago. HD DVD got close with transformers, but didn't, and now with the 100K players being out there, it barely moved. But, I believe it may have to do with all those damn free movies they got.

Oh no did someone actually bring an internet fanboy argument (AAA or not/metacritic) into real life? Variety don't give a freak about those things. Sometimes it is refreshing to see a non-gaming publication (dare I say casual? maybe not don't know anything about the Variety reviewer) review a gaming product. Isn't this the target of Nintendo?
I think it looks for gamers within the region you are signed up for right? not where the actual game is from, being region unlocked.
