Upscaling arguments are so stupid. ALL YE WHO READ THIS SHALL NEVER MAKE UPSCALING ARGUMENTS AGAIN:
Crap in, Crap out. If you start with 720x480 worth of pixels, good quality, and upscale it to 1920x1080, it'll go from good quality at 480, to lower quality (lower bitrate stuff) at 1080. You can't make info magically appear.
You cannot duplicate 1920x1080 at a good bitrate with a standard DVD, I don't care how good your upscaler is.
Funny, I remember playing counterstrike with more than 12 players, I believe (been a while). Of course it was typing and no talking. I can't imagine having to chat while playing, just not my cup of tea to chat in real voice.
I'm still waiting on a decent explanation on how the 360 sold less this year than last, but there are shortages. Could it be for warranty purposes?
He's trying to correct the imbalance created many moons ago by Gamespot when they compared games from a 3 day old console to one released a year ago.

Hmm, I always play normal difficulty because my gaming windows are so short, the hard ones don't allow me to finish levels on time. But I'll be sure to put this on a harder one to extend the experience when I get it!
I rented subsistence to play the original games, but man I just couldn't do it. I put in MGS and it was so old, I know I played it as such, but that was 10 years ago. I couldn't do it on my PS3, so I returned it.
So you have actual friends in real life who have had RROD and had them replaced; but yet you declare you only hear about this on the internet.
Now that is a loyal fan.

Let me add, holy crap this game sounds interesting.
They aren't better even if they have better PQ. Ok if they have markedly better picture quality, and movie watching is all you want, then yes, they can be better.
But the possibilities on PS3 are much more than simple movie viewing.

cmrbe, it could very well be his comments. Cultures are different over there than in the US. His comments MAY have offended some higher ups. I mean he went after Sony Japan somewhat.
If they do a marketing blitz (which I'm sure they will) there is almost no chance this thing fails. It is just so appealing on so many levels.
