Not all games on PS3 are region locked. Some sports games are locked, but that's not on Sony or PS3, more MLB etc controlling their products.

"Funny that the Xbox360 results clearer and PS3 version looks "smoother".
I tought that PS3 was the console that was shouting about 1080p and the need of hi-def and detail. "

You're one of those that like to turn sharpness up all the way on their tvs right? Well most videophiles are turning them down to 20% or even completely off ...

Warmness vs. sharpness. Think of film vs. video.

On top of that, AU is almost as big as the continental US. But yeah, approximately 36M people in California.

Pfft, $20/hour? That's only 33 cents a minute. WHO CAN'T AFFORD 33 cents a minute?

Google "Banging in Little Rock"

Tell you how bad that city is, and Arkansas in general (my apologies to all AR residents and bill clinton if you're reading!)

GF is in fort smith arkansas as we speak for work. Lets say, coming from san diego, it's ... different!

Don't forget, Sony is a behemoth and won't forget the lessons learned this generation.

N4user, I trust Arstech a lot, but don't trust Ben Kuchera one bit when it comes to Sony products. Frank Caron is the unbiased reviewer there. Read any of his sony stories and the comments, you will see.

Oh did you know, when Ars wrote an article about Sony's divx capabilities on the PS3, the author interally titled the article, "Sony's Divx solution sucks!" not thinking visitors could see it, but those with an RSS feed (or similar) could see it?

As I...

Each region has their pluses and minuses. The climate here is more temperate so the beaches aren't tropical pretty but it isn't hot and humid either. Not too hot, not too cold is basically what it is here (I'm talking Southern California).

but there are chick fil a's. I've never eaten it, but there. Plus we have In-N-Out!

How can we not bash the dude for berating backwards looking design team, when all he does is look back!

I agree. Sony is no saint by any means, but the recent NPD results paint the picture. MS is about to lose, damage control moments before the NPD numbers come out. Sony loses by 5,000, they dont' make one mention of hte fact they pulled 80GB from the shelves. They just say, hey, look our numbers increased from last year.

See that little tab up at the top? Yeah the one that says PC? Yeah, guess what company powers those little suckers.

This would be really good news if Intel didn't already show off 32nm samples last Fall. So IBM is announcing they will show it a year later ...

There are 50 million reasons that the bundle won't come to the US.

I'm just speculating of course, but doesn't anyone else find it funny they aren't bringing this bundle to the one area the 360 still has a very firm stronghold and two, where GTA will be immensely popular, but they're bringing it to Poland, and Aus, etc.?

They do cost more, and value might lie in Samsungs, but no way is the Samsung picture better than the Sony. Close, and very good, but not better.

Sony's black levels are the only ones good enough to challenge plasmas on this front (not beat it of course).

I can top the both of you. My GF who travels extensively for work, told me I can have hers, i.e. I can take it home. I have yet to play it or take it home yet.

Not that there are not good games for it, just hasn't compelled me just yet.

Oh, does anyone find the statement "While Microsoft is knockin em dead in Europe" funny? There is one thing turning up dead in Europe all right ...

For 50 Million I'd name my first unborn after the 360 version.

"It's kind of helping no one."

In some regions PS2s are still outselling 360's and PS3s. Yeah sure, helping no one. How about the millions of existing PS2 owners.

Not even counting people who have 2, I think only 25% of the pop has one. So not pretty much everyone ...

Of course. They are only saying this because they didn't make the HDD standard across their consoles. It's called regresssion, not innovation with MS. As their original X had a standard HDD.

Nothing wrong with doing it though, it's smart for their business.
