I'm fairly sane. And I rented it. I never replay games anyway so I rent all my games. I spend $360 a year (gamefly) and get to play all new games. Anything else, is insane! Ok not really, but as I don't replay games it only makes sense.
Silellak, better yet, head over to AVSFORUM. From what I recall, one of the Toshiba HD DVD players (can't remember which one) is the best upconverter, while the PS3 has gotten fairly close recently with updates. This is from non-gamers, so no format company bias for sure. They'll pimp their grandma for better picture quality.
At 73" though, you will definitely notice the difference between Blu-Ray and upconverted DVDs. Upconverted DVDs look like trash on my Mitsu HD100...
You know what's funny, the guy who discovered it was 640p (quaz51 or whatever) who is apparently a resolution counting fool, preferred the PS3 version when he announced it.

Resolution is not the #1 factor for picture quality. Head on over to AVSFORUM and hear from non-gaming PQ obsessed posters. Contrast ratio, color accuracy etc are more important.
Not if you have a custodial account, sorta. Stocks are yours now, but not turned over to you until you reach a certain age.

Legion, he's not talking about his PS3 but his TV. To answer the question, yes your TV will automatically upscale to it's native resolution, which is 1080p.
I explained it way above, but some people cannot wrap their head around it. All this trick does is make your PS3 do the scaling up to 1080p, not the TV. If you left it alone, your TV would still take that signal and upscale to 1080p. The question is, which one does it better?
All this does is upscale 640p to your displays native 1080p. Newsflash, your TV does the same thing if you feed it something other than 1080p (assuming you have a 1080p display of course). You want to do this if you are certain your PS3 does a better job of upscaling than your TV.
This is analogous to when you were in college (or in, or about to be) and you typed all that you could type for a term paper, but unfortunately it only comes out to 6.4 pages. Your teacher requires...
Might be one of the worst too. Their HD DVD was pretty bad in some tests, and never outputted HD sound. Unless MS finally allows their HDMI connection to output PCM etc.

Just remember the S Series LCD's from Sony are the lowest end. They do not have as good as PQ as the V and W nor have all the bells and whistles.

Regardless, this 33% figure had legs, massive legs. If untrue, MS would have came out disputed it, denied it. I mean they barely beat PS3 GTA IV sales in the Uk and they already got a press release saying UK loves the 360 since it sold 20% more (not pointing out the lower attach rate).
