I couldn't sleep last night after I saw all of the new PSP games last night. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Gamestop to open so I could go pickup my Go to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on it. Screw the lack of UMD transfer, I just bought another digital copy. My son came have my UMD version so we can hunt together. I was going to buy him a copy anyways.
Granted, it would be nice to be able to play Resistance: Retribution on it, but I haven...
They need to port the original FF to PSP. That would be all sorts of awesome.
If it is optimized for the PSP it will be much smaller. Since the screen isn't 1920x1080 they can scale it down to the resolution of the PSP and drop the bitrate to a point where it still looks great on the PSP but isn't wasting bits that you can't see on the teeny screen.

I believe there are 750GB 2.5" SATA HDDs, and 1TB drives are coming. I had to upgrade my Slim to a 500GB, I was running out of room on my 80GB, and the 120GB was almost full by the time I got everything re-downloaded and then copied over part of my music library.
It's too bad there isn't support for playing music from a CIFS share on a Windows box, or an NFS or Appleshare volume. Even better would be the ability to read an iTunes share from a Mac or PC...
I counted up the PSP games on the store. There are now 186 PSP titles on the PS Store. Compare that to 117 PS3 games. WOW! That was one hell of an update. I think I need a cigarette.

I'm downloading Monster Hunter Freedom Unite now to my PSP-1000 so I can play it sans UMD and pretend I already have my new PSPgo. Heading straight over to Gamestop in the morning to pick up my pre-order!

When I heard that there was no UMD transfer option I got really pissed. But then I thought about it more. I think calling this a PSP is sort of a misnomer. It's not a PSP-x000, it's a whole new piece of hardware that happens to play PSP games.
Really, this is a whole new branch of the PSP. It's not really meant to replace the PSP, but to provide another option for playing PSP games to people who want a smaller porta...

If you send in a PS3 for repairs and get a different one back, or if you sell one of your PS3s and forget to deactivate it, or give it away or whatever, all you have to do is call or e-mail Sony's customer support and ask them to deactivate all of your PS3s and you can re-activate them one by one. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it would have to be a history of being reported by multiple people before anything happens to you, otherwise yes it could easily get abused. As with any system that sounds great in development, once it hits the Internet it will have to get tweaked so it works as intended.
