@Thorstein - It goes well beyond his comments to Gamespot. Last October on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Murray said that "You can't see yourself, so the only way to know what you look like is for somebody else to see you."
This means that yes, you will come in contact with other actual players. You can't spin this any other way.

@fullmetalRoyale - If anyone digs the game I'm absolutely more than happy for them (I'm presently watching my wife play as we speak, and she's getting plenty of enjoyment out of it). Personally, I feel NMS is a lifeless and unexciting experience that offers very little compellling gameplay to match its sprawling universe.

We all knew it was coming, that's for sure. Even still, the thought of all of that content in a 60 dollar package is pretty incredible. It definitely puts a great deal of what's out there to shame in terms of bang for your buck.
Honestly, it all seems to be about luck. I died pretty early, but it was because I was spawned on a planet with torrential acid rain and virtually no healing isotopes of any kind for miles around. My first hour was a constant struggle of finding the bare minimum resources to restore my armor and life support equipment while hoping I stumbled to some sort of trading post to get the materials my planet just didn't seem to have.

Standalone expansions are still expansions. Would you actually call Infamous: First Light or Forza 2's Fast & Furious standalone expansions new games in their respective series? No, of course not.
Episode 2 is an expansion, not a whole new game. So yes, it's been well over a decade since we've seen a proper new entry in the Half Life series, and it's been just shy of a decade since the last expansion.
If the author were merely naming games and counting down for clicks I'd absolutely agree, but he added a lot of context for why he chose each game that was listed, and we're not left looking at a slow loading wall of text and images.
And yeah, most of those games were listed over the course of the author's countdown. Freedom Wars and P4G are tops.

It absolutely is, but an average Uncharted game is still better than most other releases.
I know Uncharted: Golden Abyss gets crapped on by some but I thought it was a really solid entry in the series.
