Since Sony is emphasizing VR they have to release Neo this year. They are already worried about Polaris pulling people to PC. Giving Polaris a year and then having to deal with Vega in January or even this October would put Sony in a jam. Plus it would cost tens, if not hundreds, of millions more to redesign Neo. It would be a lose-lose. It would also leave PSVR with a console Sony has admitted will be inferior. They have to launch Neo this year. They are tweaking it after the Scorpio leaks b...

Genuine it was Toshiba that introduced DVD to the world. Sony was first to use it in a console. DVD was already extremely popular by the time PS2 came out. I paid a lot more for a DVD player in 98 than the PS2 cost.

Shadow Sony studios represent a very, very small number of studios overall in gaming. There are hundreds and hundreds of studios that currently only work on PC games. UWP opens them up to Xbox.

Blade you obviously refuse to listen to even Sony who say Polaris is a threat to Neo. If Sony feels a $200 video card is a threat when it will still cost additional funds to complete the machine, then Scorpio is a bigger threat because it is a complete package for less than PC.

The way it will dominate and what scares Sony is UWP and Scorpio. If developers start using UWP on Scorpio and making third party games across Windows 10 and Xbox Microsoft will have one machine that appeals to the majority of gamers.

Hundreds of millions of PC gamers have a average spec machine. Xbox has tens of millions of users. Millions looking to get into VR will be looking for a cheap solution. Scorpio with UWP would cover all of those people.

A che...

I have often blamed the school system for the lack of comprehension skills and logic on this site but no more. There has to be some personal responsibility.

Some will accept that Neo will cost $400 and be twice as powerful as PS4. Ok, I know that's true because of the specs of Polaris. But those same people then believe Scorpio will have to cost $600-1000 even though it most likely includes Vega, a new GPU architecture from the same company that makes Polaris that will ...

You gotta wonder how many of the guys constantly criticizing women who appreciate games only have love for their moms. And her basement.

But apparently Andrew, the worm has turned. Because the leaked information isn't coming from AMD, it's coming from people who test equipment. So far it seems AMD under promised. If you're not convinced look at their stock price. Anyone paying attention knows the stock market is a scam. They lead people in a certain direction knowing people are extremely slow at adjusting to new information. They will go years believing long disproved information. Sometimes generations pass on terr...

And we've had Sony say it won't be on the same level as the competition.

Sony already said it wouldn't be as good on the regular PS4. This is another attempt to keep potential customers from looking at what AMD is offering. The 470 specs are VR ready at $150. It's looks like a 4 teraflop machine can be had for very close to $400. If you already have a decent machine VR is just $750 now.

I think this is more of a I just started my small development company and you are stretching my resources too thin. There is nothing he mentioned that hasn't been an issue for years on PC. Xbox One will be getting mouse and keyboard to help with some of the issues. Crossplay might not be available on some games. But midrange computer setups running games at 1080p/30 have been going against machines running Titan at 1440/60+ for some time now. The solution is simple, dynamic resolution and...

I know if I had been waiting on this game for ten years and saw that trailer showing two of those damn things I'd be pissed. Last Guardian my ass.

If the leaked information is true that what AMD has been talking about with Polaris so far is the GPU just coasting and Vega is twice as good 4K will be no issue. Rumors say even with higher clock speeds the amount of power the 480 is pushing still doesn't account for how well games are running on it. It is apparently very efficient and you can expect twice the performance from Vega. Don't believe Microsoft is being completely open about the power of Scorpio. AMD apparently hasn't...

Ok, do we really need to pretend this isn't built with AMD parts? It's just a matter of which parts. It will at least be Polaris. I doubt it will be Jaguar on the CPU because why make DX12 and then cripple your own machine with an underpowered part. Asynchronous compute will be important to Scorpio. I expect Vega , Zen and more than 6 teraflops on the GPU. Just like AMD is playing coy with Polaris, Microsoft is playing coy with Scorpio.

As usual Sony fanboys are hilarious. Where are the Scorpio games? You guys are repeating that like 6 teraflops don't mean anything. We already know what 6 teraflops means, damn good looking games. Games that are 18 months out, why would they show them now? Sometimes reading comments on this site is like seeing an audience ooh and ahh at game footage only to hate it once the title screen is displayed.

It'll be interesting to see what Sony does with that information. They are kind of in a tough spot. Sony is going all in on VR which means they have to launch this year. People might be willing to wait another year, but given the specs for the AMD 480 some could jump to PC for slightly more money. Someone with a half decent PC can buy a 480 without the need to upgrade a power supply or much else. So $800 for Oculus and a GPU compared to $850 for PSVR and the camera if you don't have o...

Okay User, say no Neo customers looking for instant gratification change their minds. Fast forward to 2017 and people are still buying consoles. Someone looking for the most powerful console have an obvious choice. What does Sony do then? Announce PS5 for a 2018 release? I doubt Sony can get away with another console before 2020. And what if Microsoft includes AMDs external GPU technology. That one year wait opens many options. Sony had to make VR more viable. But now they have given Microsof...

In the past consoles were often announced 18 months in advance. This generation both Microsoft and Sony waited to announce in the launch year and now that is standard?

If Microsoft had waited people who bought a S would have complained. Announcing now does let smaller studios that didn't get to provide input know it is coming.

None of that hurts S. To believe that means you have to believe One hurt the 360. We know that wasn't the case for more t...
