I always thought PS3 fans like having a disc(I'm sure because this is Sony). With a few exceptions, they all seem to think DD is viable now. I don't think this will happen though.
If Sony starts giving people the option, it immediately exposes Blu-ray as unnecessary. People would get to see how little space the games really take up. But the online copies having extra things would help hide the size of the game. Adding things like uncompressed songs would make the file bigger than...
I read your comment and only than did I really understand how approiate of your name is. If you're ten, my bad.
Everyone knows this generation will last at least another twenty years. There won't be a new console out with a larger harddrive. And even if a new system came out in the next couple of years and has a 1 TB of space, it's not possible to download an entire game to a harddrive. If it was possible to load the whole game on the HD, you still couldn't put one game on several disc. HD DVD for movies is gone, and Toshiba stopped doing any further work on HD DVD. Well except for the HD DVD disc they...
HHG, you really need to stop. The PS3 can't outsell a console with a reputation for breaking. Breaking constantly. If it wasn't for RRoD, Microsoft would have 5 times the number Sony has in NA. And than you have the nerve to quote a bunch of fanboys like yourself, please. I don't know if your plan is to be taken seriously, but if this fanboy nonsense is all you have, don't expect to ever be taken seriously. And while you keep bringing up $199, most of the 360s sold are $299. Oh, and they actu...
Doing those launches must cost the store a good amount of money. I bet the publisher or dev gives them a little incentive to do one. I've heard the pre-orders were over a million(which is a lot) so Sony must not have been able to give them the extra incentive to open late. Actually if they give something to get those openings, it's not in Sony's interest to do so at this time. They need to make as much as they can from Killzone. And giving extra to the stores for a game that will sell just as...
Yeah, top of the world Ma!
The HipHop analyst.
Really think about what Kaz said. After a few years the less powerful system will be boring. Odd coming from the PS2 company. Almost ten years in and still getting new games and selling pretty well. Funny how that whole install base thing works. He doesn't care what developers want, really? That will come back to haunt him. So far the PS3 has received less developer support than the 360. And it will continue to receive less and mostly get ports of what goes multi-platform. It is a business an...
Sony doesn't have the money for SB ads. They have too many other things to pay for. Stop believing Sony has so much money. They don't. What money they do have they have to spend on trying to move the company forward. Not pleasing fanboys. They tried that with the PS3 and look where that got them.
It's another one of those reports that come out every other month. If Blu-ray has a unusually good week, we get a report. The next 4 or five weeks between major releases or holidays and you here nothing about Blu-ray. Another blockbuster movie and some below average sales(really high for Blu-ray though) and here's your report about the deep market penetration of Blu-ray. What a joke. At the end of the year it will all equal 7-8% of the market.
If you report a RRoD, they will fix it.
Look at how the fanboys feel when they don't know if they are real or not. If they knew they were real they would have a fit. But fanboys live in fantasy land and don't realize developing a far more complex new machine will cost money Sony doesn't have.
I saw a comment from a fanboy saying that Sony is fine because the games division made 4.5 million dollars. 4.5 million after millions in PSP and PS2 consoles and software. After millions in PS3 software. The PS3 unit is killing ...
and forced me to buy DLC at gunpoint. Oh', sorry. I had dosed off and had a crazy dream. In real life I can just not buy the DLC. I do it all the time if I believe it's not worth it.
The problem with the idea that the Xbox is in trouble because of less market share is misleading. Microsoft and Nintendo make a profit from their market shares. Sony loses money from theirs. The other problem is that Sony has drastically lost market share from the previous generation. Sony went from 68% of the market last generation, to less than 20% this generation. If there is a scary trend, that would be it.
It's killing them because they are still losing money on the console. It's killing them because they are not selling as many consoles as they thought they would. It's killing them because they are losing market share with a console that cost more to develop for in the first place. It's killing them because they spent billions to develop the Cell and Blu-ray and for 3 years it hasn't paid off. It's killing them because they are having a hard time paying off the huge amount of debt they have. ...
Hey don't worry about it. In a month or two when Killzone hasn't moved an extra million or so PS3s, they will have no choice but to realize the truth. Sony is a company hanging on a thread. You will see major changes with Sony. And none will be good. Microsoft is eating their lunch in gaming, Samsung in televisions, Apple in cellphones and they are all out of Spider-man movies. Their music division sucks and electronics are in the tank. The next year is make or break for Sony. The whole compa...
He seems to have a lot of time to write things from a completely distorted point of view. Microsoft has closed Studios. They also seem to be gaining exclusive content and games. He fails to mention that while they are laying off in some areas, they are hiring in others. They just started a new game studio actually. Microsoft had started closing internal studios long before anyone was talking about the economy. It's more about buying a known quantity than taking all of the risk with internal s...
Toyota is winning in cars and Samsung in televisions. Not sure about the rest, but I'm pretty sure it's an analyst's job to know that stuff. I wouldn't allow a company that hires guys who don't to invest my money.
Just sayin'.
After 3 years of having his head firmly up Sony's a$$. Michael Pachter smells something odd.
They have Original Xbox games on live.
