Verizon is putting fiber optics places and even where there's no fiber there is DSL. Again the limits will change, companies used to be able to keep competition out, but things have changed. Plus sooner or later the government will force broadband like they did digital TV. They have already started hearings. It's believed that it's important to the country's future(at least in America). Plus even low-end broadband can have a movie downloaded if it started overnight.
I think they're talking about registered accounts. Not the number of people playing at one time. Neither Live or PSN could handle that kind of load.
but could someone tell me if the conclusion was that Microsoft is making millions off of their on-line service. Money that Sony needs.
You're not mainstream media, but you are definitely biased.
His company isn't the struggling. So he has a little time on his hands.
I agree with you on the DL limits, that has to change. But it will as people leave companies with limits for ones that don't have them. Competition will take care of that. But the argument for Blu-ray are only good for some people. Uncompressed audio and the image quality of Blu is being lost on most of the public because they don't have the higher end Tvs to show it. They also don't have the speakers to really hear it. The other thing about bandwith on DD can be gotten around also. A company...
It should go on forever. They had 50gbs. But I'm sure they'll claim they filled it.
Over 4 years of development and 60 million dollars for ten hours. Hope there's enough room on that Blu-ray for ten whole hours. This must be one of those huge games that everyone says Blu-ray will allow.
Microsoft hasn't stated anything about having a major lose of revenue and their stock drops over 40%. They will always sell software, they are always gaining access to new markets and the Devices Division is finally making money. But suddenly the stock drops. If the market worked like it is supposed to, the drops would only be in companies actually suffering major hardships. But companies that aren't losing anything are having their stocks fall too. It's a scam on the public and people are cr...
Blu-ray has 8% of the market. I don't remember it ever going over 14% in a week(could be wrong). But I remember a lot of 4%'s and 6%'s. DD may only have 1% of the market, but it got that with no push from anyone. Blu-ray is pushed with every movie, the PS3 and electronics company that makes a player. If DD got that type of advertising, it would be splitting what DVD doesn't get with Blu-ray.
Blu-ray is definitely riding with a kid in it's lap.
Cooper Lawrence is just another trashy opportunist. They make up things that excuses for parents that are too caught up in their own bs to deal with their kids. Kids don't go into withdrawal, they pout. Give them something else and they will forget the other thing. Or really get crazy and spend some damn time with them. And of course she always goes to the "King" of Sh!t shoveling, The Fox "New" Network. But I guess in a society built on money, with a ready audience for mo...
The head of a division of a major company has nothing better to do than call people names. The reason their company is in so much trouble is because of their huge egos. Egos that have failed to produce enough money to keep their company out of the toilet. Kaz needs to concentrate on making his company profitable. I know fanboys go for this BS argument, but those fanboys aren't buying enough of your consoles and games to keep your company from going into the tank. And they aren't coming close ...
Stop believing the hype. Here are some real numbers on DVD.

Sony is in the mess they're in because of hype.
Oh, God(sob)! Make 'em stop! Once you stop whining you should look back at the coverage of the PS3 going back to E3 05. The vast majority of the hype that created the coverage the PS3 is getting now came from Sony. If a boxer talks trash about his opponent and brags about how much better he is and then the fight takes place and the big mouth gets knocked out. Guess what, the press is going to have a lot of questions. See, Mike Tyson-Buster Douglas. When you don't blow the competition away, pe...
I wish they hadn't gotten rid of their SXRD line. Those things are beautiful. I'll have to save for one of their SXRD Projectors.
Since when is losing 60% of your stock value better than losing 45% of your stock value. And Sony can't compare to Microsoft. Microsoft has nearly 40 billion in the bank, while Sony has 4 billion as of the last fiscal year. Microsoft has 0 long term debt while Sony has over 12 billion in long term debt. Sony estimated they would make 2 billion profit this fiscal year(pre-20% decline in electronic sales), their estimate. Microsoft has sometimes 3 times that in profit in a quarter. There is no ...
Nintendo has nothing but games. And through their decision making, which most thought was and is a joke, they have managed to become a much more valuable company than Sony. They are a top five company in Japan now, right in their with Toyota. Sony has fallen way back.
Sony always wants to be the star. And plain 'ol Vizio, Samsung and Nintendo are kicking their asses. They need to stop being greedy. They should have worked with Toshiba on HD disc and they should not have tried to...
It might change you mind. Nintendo is in the same economy, they don't seem to be having problems. Except if you consider not having enough people to count all the money a problem. Everything is not about the economy.
Actually just wait until Killzone 2 gets released. Killzone is without a doubt the game that is supposed to sell PS3s. If Sony can't sell an additional million consoles over their average in February, the Hatchet-man cometh.
You are way off. The previous restructuring was pre-holiday. Some companies make as much as 40% of their annual income during the holiday period. Maybe you didn't hear that sales were down almost 20% in electronics. You must have missed the thing about PS3 sales being down from last December. Sony has been struggling in a couple of their other divisions already(Movies and Cellphones). Sony has been moving to get rid of the Cellphone division for awhile.
Everyone need to stop blam...
But if it is, that is incredible. It took them forever and I refuse to pay $660 for 1 game, but that is amazing.
