I will say it is known that stock prices will go up when companies make money. But Microsoft is the only company trying to make money.

It depend on which writer at Cnet. David Carnoy used to be a Sony shill. He once wrote an article saying he badly wanted a PS3 just after launch but couldn't find one even though there was an article on Cnet showing pallets of PS3s in stores. The article was all about the slow initial sales.

One thing only a Sony fanboy could argue against is that Microsoft has brought better tools and developer support to gaming. That will benefit all gamers on every platform.

gamers 42 you got trolled. Don't fall for silly headlines.

Stock price goes down when there is something that is believed to scare customers away. Many, mostly Sony fanboys, have said always on is a deal breaker. SO maybe they know it isn't what the fanboys are making it out to be. Or maybe they know that developers want it and are willing to support the console that does it more. Either way, the price going up means they see the next Xbox as something good.

Although Microsoft is a big company that makes a lot of profitable thin...

That's not Netflix fault. The content holders have been trying to kill Netflix for a while now. Using games consoles was just another way for them to stay relevant. Original content is the next thing. They should partner with the console makers to make them a bigger player. It would have been smart for Microsoft to try to buy them. MS carry more weight in negotiations. It seems now that Microsoft has gone their own route. But making your own content is the key to the future of online stre...

I think the change at the top has done wonders. Sony made a lot of dumb decisions last generation in gaming and a lot in other departments. Adding Blu-ray and the Cell in the PS3. Making Blu-ray period. Some may like it but it hasn't been what they thought it would and never will be.

But now they have made better decisions in gaming. I hope they adjust in the exclusives department. They realize streaming is better than Blu-ray for most. Only some want to keep hundreds of...

Actually they have that. It's called SmartGlass.

Not sure it's the only reason, but we do know they had a vision towards the future and what was needed to make it. They said DD would be the future and at least Sony has announced all games will be available day and date on PSN. I just think they had a better vision of what was developing in entertainment. There was a report that NBC and Fox might go to pay channels which would make them perfect candidates for Xbox TV. Al Carte cable is what most consumers really want and the direction Mi...

@Kratos

Or how about we realize that people with more information than the general public aren't worried about the next Xbox.

Big it's just fanboy talk. They apparently don't know who Microsoft is. If they did, they would know a simple phrase MS is well known for that would put all of their silly thoughts to rest.

"Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation."

They are doing what they always have.

Good thing Microsoft isn't a company.

@Old McGroin

Apple was predicted to sell more than 45 million iPads last year. Far more than any console sells in a year and there are still a lot of other tablets that sold. Add smartphones that cost hundreds. The tablets cost more than consoles, even new ones.

Sales were down just because people are waiting for next generation. People haven't slowed down there spending on tech, just games and consoles. It's not about money, people will spend on wha...

I'm not sure Fallon will work out at that time slot on NBC. Carson set a certain tone and Leno kinda fit it. Conan didn't and that is why his rating were so bad. The viewers of that slot might be almost as loyal as some gamers to a company. Craig Ferguson might be a better fit for NBC in that slot. I like Fallon, but the people watching NBC then might not.

Larry L I was with you up until the economy part. The economy hasn't hurt a lot of more expensive products. Nintendo's problems was the other reasons. The gimmicky part has worn off for the none gamer. And the hardware is too weak. They could have gotten away with it if they had released it in 2010 and had three years to be slightly better and different. But a year(maybe less) before far more powerful machines that have everything special you have except exclusive software.

I hope so too. I won't be buying anymore of their titles until the online part is set. No more day one or pre-orders for them. The online always sucks the first few weeks. They need to turn their Xbox servers over to Microsoft. At least the servers would stay active all of the time.

I'm saying I never played it.

Starhawk looked like it would be fun. But Sony had better things to spend money on at the time. Marketing is expensive. Especially TV.
