Hopefully, one day, your braincell count will double, taking the tally to two, and then you might just be able to come to a logical conclusion, and give reasonable thoughts about the console 'war' which many of you are stroking the salami over.
The Ps3 is doing fine. Not great, but fine, as is the 360 and the Wii is selling better than anyone anticipated. People need to spend less time arguing over which electrical good is the best, and spend more time having an actual decent...
Oh...my...god.
I cant even be bothered to write a proper response. Seriously, are we breeding genetic d1ckheads with little braincells these days, because Zhuk is the nearest proof yet that the human race isnt as smart as it thinks it is.
Makes me sick that you probably consider yourself a gamer, and the fact you took time to write that crap is just mind boggling.
Hold on there one minute. So Microsoft, one of the largest companies to grace the planet, release a console with known defects, have no problem charging people £300+ for a console thats broke from day one, they completely ignroe the situation for months until the law suits started, in which they then offered every console come with a 3 year warranty (to swerve even more law suits and a possible recall of all 360 consoles, and the 3 years only cover those that experience RRoD), costing t...
...but wait til NPd reveal the numbers, that'll show that the 360 is the bestist console in Ameri...i mean, the world
[/sarcasm]
I hate how much deep interest there is in sales numbers. All the people that talk about it talk as though their choice was justified with the way the consoles are selling. Some fantastic games out there on all consoles people, go and play them
I think the only one who has seen any kind of sense has been PirateTom in regards to this subject. The UK charts have been back and forth most of the year, generally dominated by the Wii, with PS3 and 360 having strong appearences from games that are usually popular over here (Fifa 09, PES 2009, Call of Duty etc).
To be honest, nobody should really be suprised that the 360 has more games in the top 20 than the PS3. Given that the 360 has sold more consoles in the UK, along wi...
People like 'Why dis' are the ones that really annoy me. Sorry for those Americans that do pay attention to things outside their country, but for those that don't, there is alot more out there besides the 'USA'.
It annoys the hell out of me when people like 'Why dis' totally disregard sales outside of America, as to them its the only country that matters in the world. Its always 'well just wait til NPD, that'll show that PS3 is doomed' and it leaves me shaking my head most of...
I think the install base of the 360 when Halo 3 launched was probably smaller than what the PS3's install base is now, so the install base is there.
Will it sell as well as Halo 3? It could happen, bit its doubtful. Halo carries with it a huge reputation, particularly in America. Regardless of how good or bad its received, it'll always sell in large numbers. If Microsoft can take credit for anything in the video game industry, its for creating a marketing giant in Halo.

Infact there isn't even a need to think, it is a success...at least from certain aspects it is anyway.
The reason i say that is for a few reasons. Firstly, it ain't the greatest hardware around. The whole 'RRoD' issue has plagued the console (i myself suffering from it twice) and considering Microsoft had to cover this up with the 3 year warranty costing the company $1billion, i would hardly say that was edging towards a successful console.
From a sales point o...
i think you're mis-understanding me in my statement. I am not saying that the Ps3 isnt value for me, for me, its superb value for money, and gives you alot of things that the 360 doesnt. But the majority of people do not know this, or are too ignorant to take this into account when buying a console. We all know to get the best out of the 360 you need extras which push the price up, but the initial price is what present better value for the average joe. Remember, not everybody is a gamer o...
...considering, before the 360 cut its price before the holiday period kicked in, that the PS3 was selling at a faster rate than the 360, i'd say that those games did have some effect, just not as big as the effect having a price drop was, which is what the majority of people wait on, alot more than a specific game releasing.
Gameswise it was a very good year for the Playstation 3, and while its sales were behind the 360's, it still sold remarkably well considering the difficul...
...i think spec wise the PS3 does provide better value for money, but the problem is not value for money, but simply initial outlay. I think the majority of parents would not care whether the Ps3 came with all the features it does, they simply look at the cost of both machines, and would prefer to pay £180 for an Xbox 360 Elite instead of £280 on a Playstation 3, regardless of what is better or not. Hence why i hate the talk about sales. Sales does not prove one machine is better...
While i agree in some sense to what your are saying, i also disagree. Lets say the Playstation 3 does drop price to, say £199 here in the UK. Would Microsoft really react suddenly by dropping the price of the console to £99 or less? Wouldn't that seem more of a desperate attempt of keeping ahead of Sony? And wouldn't that show that Microsoft does not think it can go neck and neck with hardware of similar distinction? How low would Microsoft be willing to go before it really sta...
Thanks for enlighting us all on your game preference. Maybe i should go around all the fansites of the football clubs i hate and tell them of my hatred. Of course, i aint a complete retard, so i won't. I highly doubt you've fallen asleep playing it to be honest, unless you hardly sleep as it is or have some sort of disorder. Either way, you spent your money on a game you dont enjoy and have 'fallen asleep' twice (surely the first time you would have fallen asleep would have been an indica...
Good performance by Microsoft late in 2008, although, like others have said, the boost seen is because the console saw a price drop before the holiday period. Its one thing selling tons of consoles to people that are shopping at Xmas, it'll be something else selling to people who simply see £100-£300 on a console as a huge un-needed cost this year.
So while 2008 was a very good year sales wise, i have slight doubts that 2009 may prove alittle troublesome given the ma...
I think it depends on how well the Playstation 3 sells in January as to whether Sony will cut the price now or later. A reasonable performance in January will probably see the Playstation 3 continue at the price it is at now.
If sales struggle in January, then we may probably see a price cut come in February, just before the launch of Killzone 2. I do think it would be a good time for a price cut. With the economic crisis along with competing with competition half its price,...
You say...
"ROTFLOL....
Let's see, Sony did multiple and massive price cuts, and now they have a few games and Bluray won the format war while all pulling from some 140 million PS2 owners, and all they could do was increase sales by 60%. LOL
60% from a small number isn't really impressive at all. In fact, Sony missed their sales target.... so how is this something else besides a failure?"
Only one company seems to be hitt...
...you seem to have forgotten that E3 isnt the show it use to be, and that CES is a bigger show than what you seem to make out. I agree that it isnt the place to showcase new games or make major announcements, however, i would expect something more than 'just a footnote' considering how well the 360 is supposidly doing.
If it is doing that well, then why not take the opportunity to sing and dance about it at a large consumer show?
Given how the Xbox 360 has done well over the holiday, i would have thought some of Microsofts focus would have been promoting it even more. Yes, it has specialised gaming shows to showcase the 360, but the 360 is an electronic product, and this is an electronic trade show, so i would have thought one to two half decent things would have been planned.
Although, with Windows 7 being its main focus, its not too much of a suprise to see that getting the main look in, however, with Vi...
Game have done a few 'exclusive demo when you pre-order' things with one or two titles, so it could be the same again with this here in the UK.
Otherwise, just rent it from your local Blockbuster if you're unsure, but, given i'm not a huge FPS fan, and having spent time with the Beta, i can say its a very enjoyable game, and graphically out of this world
Teh PS3 is doomed...it has no gamezzzz, npd, npd, N...P..D!!!!1!!1!
Right, now, back to returning to be a gamer and not a pissy 360 fan, great score for Killzone 2. I know alot of the major online sites have been blown away by Killzone 2, so i expect this to be the first of many high scores that start to filter through
