I played neither so I am in no room to make judgment, but this guy spent HUNDREDS of dollars on a free to play card game just on card packs? That is ridiculous and shows that whoever the writer is has no semblance of sanity in him. HUNDREDS spent on VIRTUAL cards? Jesus. This screams major personal bias and nepetism.
Directly from this article: " but DA:I’s philosophy as existing less as a single player RPG and more as a single player MMO consumed by pointless side-quest...
You realize it's free with playstation plus this month, right?
How about instead of everyone arguing about how much improvement dx 12 will bring to the Xbox one, let's oh I don't know, wait until it comes and games utilize it to so what it can actually do in practice?
Yesssssss. Toukiden on the PS4. YESSS
But if I'm being honest, MGS 5's graphics don't impress me. They're good, but nothing to write home about
It is a linear game, but to the uncharted experience, visuals are more important. The series has ALWAYS pushed the visual envelope on consoles. They CAN do 60 fps, but it would be to the detriment of the visuals which in the case of a game like uncharted, is something naughty dog would rather not do. Action set pieces are more spectacular with the best visuals you can push. They're not so spectacular at 60 fps with lesser visuals that limit the impact of the high frequency action moments....
You don't hear men complaining when they're portrayed as gruff attractive white guys with muscular bodies and in many cases, completely shirtless as in many fighting games or another example being Enslaved: Odyssey To The West, BUT I guess objectification only exists when it involves women :(
Meaning news stories about the industry were more interesting than the actual games
Infamous first light, the swapper, ducktales remastered, duke nukem 3d, and prototype 2 this month are all very good picks.
While trying for 500,000, which I got on my first try in all arenas except 1, I naturally completed all the challenges and bam--platinum
I got it with less than 10 hours of playtime. Easiest platinum ever
The story may have been weak, but the performances from the characters and the facial expressions were good enough to lessen the impact from how weak the story actually was. I enjoyed the cutscenes because of the performances and facial animation.
They had better stories, but I think saying "some of the best in gaming" is a bit much.
What makes you say that? A critically acclaimed game considered one of the all time classics that people went crazy over when the remaster was announced is not very likely to bomb at all. I know I'm buying it day 1.
It's such a tired argument. Exclusives are good, when one platform or platform holder obtains an exclusive that is critically acclaimed or loved by many, the competition will invest heavily in making an even better exclusive and they constantly try to outdo each other, resulting in better games for the consumer even if he/she may not own all the platforms to play all the games. Exclusives and competition among them is good for healthy growth in the industry.
Not a very good taste in action games then?
Skate 2 and 3 got pretty damn arcadey and you could do some ridiculous things...so it's really just a difference in control scheme. And using the right analog stick to do different flip tricks feels so much more gratifying than pressing the face buttons with a direction.
I don't get what the big deal is about buying a game if it's only available for last gen. It's not like the systems just don't work anymore. If you want to miss out on a bunch of games from last gen you probably never played, then go ahead.
You do realize a cross-gen game on next gen still has the capability to look better than a current gen only game.
Not only does this guy just not understand the appeal or target audience of this game, but the actual writing and grammar of the review is painfully awkward.
