Honestly not understanding how so many people think the first is the best. It must just be nostalgia because in all honesty, Gears of War 3 is the significantly better game in pretty much every respect. Multiplayer, horde mode(😍),level design, story, cover system, shooting mechanics. Gears of War 3 is objectively better than the first game in so many ways that I can not understand any reason for someone liking the first more other than just blind nostalgia.
Nope. I think strategy rpg's and most turn based games benefit from being on handhelds for one BIG reason. The portability and convenience makes playing through games like these more bearable. Strategy rpg's and and RPG with turn based combat is slow paced and menu heavy. Battles take time. You don't blaze through them and oftentimes save points are more difficult to come across than any other genre and so having a handheld makes it a much more accessible experience. I start a bat...
I was going into this thinking "okay, it clearly won't look as good, but I'm sure it'll be good enough"
But then I saw the video and holy hell, the atmosphere is nonexistent. Not mentioning the pared down character models and textures which i expected, the washed out bright look and what seems to be either massive simplification or complete removal of a lot of lighting and atmospheric effects really kills the look of the game more than any textures or mo...
I didn't like the order 1886, but articles like this are still interesting. I'm a person that's very passionate about the video game industry and that includes every facet of this industry, including the technical details of a game. I thought the game itself was average with excellent potential for a sequel so a discussion on the game as a game isn't something I would care about, but a discussion of the technology and rendering techniques behind the game is something that I fi...
Your tangent on if people want stories in games, they should buy a ticket to the cinema or a good book and not a game, you are sadly mistaken. Both literature and fulmars PASSIVE experiences. Video games are an interactive medium and by that nature, a well told story is more impactful in a game because of the active participation than a similarly well told story in a book or a movie.
People saying games are more expensive to make now and using that as an excuse--guess what? The industry is also bigger. More people play games. More people buy games. Sooo.....I'm pretty sure that should offset it. You're more likely to sell in this day and age than 10 years ago because of how mainstream the industry has become. It gets bigger and bigger with each coming year so games being more expensive to make is not an excuse
In 2D fighters, stages are just backgrounds that change nothing, but the different backdrop still freshens it up so your point still does not hold any bearing
Ummm...say I play 1,000 matches of rocket league. Playing 1,000 matches on the same backdrop over and over and over will become incredibly stale and diminish my desire to continue playing. Try playing a shooter online with only one map. Try playing a fighting game with one stage. You'll want to stop playing
Have you seen how the game looks? If the current gen consoles couldn't run such a basic game at 1080p 60fps, then I don't know. That would have been pretty sad
It's very obvious these guys are Xbox fanboys that are talking negatively about it because it's exclusive. Calling Street Fighter 5 "button bashing madness". Okay, kid. Whatever helps you sleep at night
Maybe because Ground Zeroes is one tiny map and the actual game is a huge open world???
Or or or OR the game is just so good that you'll want to play it multiple times a and enjoy it each time because the game is just that good??? I've replayed hundreds of games over my life time at least once. In fact, if I had to estimate, not counting rpg's(because of length), I've probably replayed at least 50% of games I've ever owned at least once
Assassin's Creed keeping it fresh??? What kind of alternate dimension have I stepped into?
Guess what? It's a reboot series. Stop complaint that it doesn't feed your little nostalgia. It's a reboot series for a reason. SO IT CAN TAKE A DIFFERENT APPROACH AND BE DIFFERENT. THAT'S KIND OF THE POINT OF A REBOOT, but I guess if you want every game in a series to be the same, you can continue living with stagnation
No? Because all future stadiums are being released for free
I would think it's obvious they're showing uncharted 2 first because it's the most critically acclaimed game in the series. I'm sure people want to first know how the best game in the series looks before any of the others
You aren't in the industry. You don't make games. You don't know how hard it can be to convince publishers to fund your game no matter how talented you are. Oftentimes it is for stupid reasons. Look at Life Is Strange. A crapload of publishers denied that game because they didn't like the idea of females as the main characters. They wanted to change the leads to men. Only Square Enix allowed the game to be released as is and published the game. It's not as simple as "...
ALL you brought up was sports games...there's more to gaming than sports games
Certainly 7-8 years was viable, but it wasn't "ideal". I don't know about anyone else, but I personally felt and could see that the consoles were struggling by 2011 to outdo previous technology advancements and more technically capable games seemed to run less than ideally on the consoles. You could tell 2011 was when PS3 and Xbox 360 should have started to die down, but they went on for another 2 years and sub 30fps became more frequent as more ambitious games tested the an...
How is it so stupid
