If you actually read any of the articles which discuss this, it's only children's eyes which MIGHT be hurt by using the 3D feature. I'm not saying that it will not happen to adults, but young eyes, they say, are still developing, and the 3D effect could harm that. I don't think "weak eyes" or "bad genes" have anything to do with it; excessive use, coupled with eye strain, maybe bad lighting, etc. will probably get the job done regardless of who you are.
I agree, I don't think the gameplay is revolutionary, but it's pretty impressive when you take the whole package. Let's face it, if you look at battlefield 2, the game is not easy on the eyes. When you combine that, though, with some gameplay from Bad Company 1 and 2, throw in an amazing engine with very impressive graphics, then you can imagine, ideally, how good the game could possibly be.
I will agree on that tank scene though; what were they thinking? Jeez, j...
I did read the article. He's right in part, but I still don't think there's anything wrong with gamers having hype and getting excited over upcoming games. He's right about this though: journalists calling it an amazing game right now is a premature.
Maybe he's mad because all the hype is on BF3 (and Modern Warfare 3) and not on his game? I'm not trying to make fun, seriously; the only time I see anything about Twisted Metal is when an article comes up, starting something like this: "David Jaffe rants ..." or "Jaffe lashes out ..." or "David Jaffe discusses his views ..."
Is it wrong for people to hype up a game? I know he's speaking more of journalists than fans, but still. Ther...
"And please ignore the bags with money signs that I'm holding."
Random destruction would be scary but cool; also, I think that MAJOR damage should change the playfield a bit. If you have a mortar strike, or something of that level, I think it should change the shape of the land a LITTLE bit. I know it can cause destruction and all of that, but I mean at least show on the ground where it hit; there can be a pit in the land where it struck, and it'll stay there for the match.

It's also important to have the facts right. EA is not forcing you to buy this from one place, and you do NOT need to buy this from Origin. Buy it retail, or buy it from like 10 different digital download services, just not Steam, as of now.
I agree with you, but as a warning: if you have any other digital download service, I'm assuming they all keep some stuff in their own ToS that will say something similar, so keep an eye on ALL of them.
I didn't know that, but it's good to have in the back of my mind. I do kind of backup my games anyway though. Because almost everyone now has a bandwidth limit nowadays, it's not easy to redownload a 10-20gb game all the time anyway. I install a game, and keep the game installed in the registry and whatnot, but I move the install folder from Program Files to an external hard drive.
That way you don't have 90% of your hard drive space taken up by games when yo...
Uh, why don't you just call them to increase the install limit again? I never deactivate my EA games when I uninstall them.
Others have said this, and I hate to say it again, because I'm against it, but we had better get used to it. This is not going to go away until companies like Gamestop don't exist anymore (i.e. never). It might be obvious sometimes, and other times it might not be noticeable, but used games generally hurt sales, so this is a way for them to recoup some of that "lost money" as they see it. I'm not a fan of it; I generally wait for Steam or someone else to give me cool dea...
Yeah ... because an official statement from Microsoft can't be wrong, right?
I'm just picturing this "great wall of gaming," with the Sony side and MS side. Right now, there's a lot of hatred going back and forth. If it gets broken down, there will be a lot of crying and "why were we fighting?" *sob* *hugs*
Well, are you role playing? Is it a game? Then I guess it can be called a "role playing" experience, though it's not anywhere close to an RPG. Like I said, Mass Effect is not a traditional RPG, but it fits in there. It's not called a "Role Playing w/ Items, Experience, and Customization" Game.
What I said above was what if they implemented 2 things: voice chat with anyone in a vehicle, and voice chat between squad leaders? That way people who don't want the responsibility can just be quiet in a squad, while the leaders can coordinate stuff. And that way you won't have so much random chatter going on all the time.
Look, the reason it's still called an RPG is because it has "role playing" elements (questions, decisions, etc.). It might not be a typical RPG like we know and knew from the past (Baldur's Gate, NWN) but it's not trying to be like that. I actually don't want Mass Effect 3 to be like that; I want it to have what I've come to expect from the series: good dialog and a good story.
I don't really want weapon customization, I just want more weapo...
Yeah, the ONE thing I really wanted in Bad Company 2 was the Onslaught mode against bots, that would have been fun to play around with. But with dedicated servers and all, that would have been a massive pain and expense.
Here's what I think about voice chat, from my experience with Bad Company 2 (sorry, didn't play BF2). I've seen many times 2 people who play together a lot, and they skip the rest of the team and the others in their squad and just try to win the matches on their own. I've been in squads where 2 of our guys are trying that. I'm not saying they'll be successful (that would be insanely hard with 2 people) but they try it, and it hurts the rest of the team. I think, like o...
You can tell where this is going: upgradeable consoles!!
Gears of War 4 requirement: [next box] with 16 GB RAM and the all new VIDEO CARD UPGRADE (MS licensed, of course).
Jeez, for real? What were you doing before you went to sleep? :)
