Love me some RTS games, and need more. LOTS MORE. This was fun, but it's pretty short. Hopefully we get a solid AAA RTS this year in some form.
I just want a new single-player RPG...that's it. I could be happy with that and that alone.
Lots of good games from last year, but I've stuck by my choice of MGSV for GOTY every time. Even with all the other big games that have come out and were fun, I kept coming back to Metal Gear.
In that quote specifically, I'm talking about the new Hitman game. Not Telltale's stuff.
I'm not saying they AREN'T a game, just that I don't ever feel like I'm playing them. I've played through pretty much ALL of their titles, and enjoy the stories, but I also enjoy actually playing something too.
Agreed, all of the Telltale stuff is pretty much point and click adventures...which is fine, but not really a game (at least to me). I don't want to play through a single map/a couple missions, and then have to wait another month, shelling out MORE money, just to play something new.
Frankly, I've never really cared for episodic games. I always end them feeling like it's lacking something. I can see why a massive game like the FF7 remake is going to be, could work with a structure like that, but each of those parts would feel more complete.
With Hitman, we're only getting ONE map a month. That doesn't feel like much content to spread out.
God I hope some of these games STAY in 2016. I really need to get my hands on Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Gonna be entirely honest here...I'll likely end up playing this way more than Star Wars Battlefront.
I still haven't picked this one up yet, but I LOVE watching the videos of the things others have done in the game. Looks crazy.
Really digging this world, and the visuals. This game makes the best case for the Wii U being a solid machine than any other title for it. Too bad it came so late in the life-cycle.
I'm thankful for having an understanding girlfriend, who knows that gaming is a source of stress relief for me, and doesn't complain about me sitting down with the games at the end of a long day (and dealing with the kiddos).
Yes, that's why I dropped more than 80+ hours into Dragon Age last year...ADD. Gotta be it. Hit the nail on the head.
And I get that. I get the story part and have enjoyed that aspect. My issue with the "keep trudging" mindset though, is that if a game can't genuinely hook me at more than 15 hours, then it's failed in some fundamental way.
I'm not necessarily saying it's a bad game, and there are parts of the story I'm enjoying. But if I've sunk in more hours than entire other AAA games, and still not "hooked", I can't keep going.
Hell yes it is! I love that one and also have my Wii around to keep playing it.
I'm sure they will be released separately at some point, but I'm impatient :P
I need the Darth Vader PS4 so I can play some of those re-mastered ones they put in there!
Ha! As a Star Wars collector, it was inevitable that I was going to pick it up anyway. This may delay the purchase, however.
Honestly, this is pretty much everything I feared would be the issue. I'm still going to pick it up, and have fun with the Fighter Squadron mode, but bummed that it's not as good as it could have been.
I love having a story in games, and am generally bummed when it's not the big focus. But Doom's story has always (For the most part) been intentionally sparse, with just enough to get you to the next level of killing monsters.
So it's kind of going back to basics, but I hope that doesn't keep it from being fun.
