Thumbs up to that.
Some of the games listed, like Batman, Ikari Warriors, and River City Ransom, I wouldn't exactly classify as underrated as they were very well received during their time.
But definitely agree about Deja Vu. I have fond memories (no pun intended) of that game. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was recently rereleased on current gen consoles.
@Legacy
And that's the way it should be. Devs should feel confident enough about the quality of their work if they have the drive and passion to produce something special.
Ninja Gaiden II was my favorite of the NES series. Can't believe I missed this. This is definitely hitting the Steam wishlist.
Decent list. My most memorable encounter was Chronos. I hate they're deviating from the scale the series was synonymous with.
Tetsujin,
Just redeemed mine as well. I'd missed getting Hellblade last year, and saw that it's available with a limited time PS+ discount of $20.99. Used the 20% discount on top of the PS+ deal and ultimately got the game for 16 bucks after adding in a couple dollars I had remaining in my account wallet from a previous purchase. Not bad.
"What would it even have mt for??? Its a single player game."
Ever heard of NBA 2K18? (My Career mode specifically)
@ Rude-ro
Well stated!
I couldn't agree with you enough times for this. I'd give you infinite thumbs up if I could.
Dilly Dilly!
Well said, cyguration. Shadow Tactics is another great game that comes to mind.
And just like that, it's back to $29.99.
@ instantstupor
"I truly hope that if they do go this route, they at least leave the single player portion alone and relegate the nickle and diming to whatever online component they add. I cannot see how they could gracefully incorporate MTXs into the single player of a game like RDR."
Seeing what became of NBA 2K18, another product under Take Two's umbrella, I wouldn't hold out hope for that.
Check Best Buy.
I will semi-forgive them when they forgo the NFL license exclusivity again.
"...they just want the nontangable stuff and happily hand their money over with out realizing the real cost to the rest of the gaming public."
A sad and unfortunate truth.
Exactly. Reflecting back on the quality of the facial animation and "detective" mechanics done in Until Dawn, SuperMassive Games IMO would be a good fill-in dev for a sequel. I think they could do a good job with the IP.
Bingo
Off topic...is anyone else getting spam pop ups when clicking on home page article links?
Best summary of entertainment in general I've seen yet. Though, I'd contend that casualization began well before the mid 2000s.
