@ Joe Lol, true. Some of the stuff they were saying weren't even official or true too (CC not encrypted, etc). The eu posts was a good touch though XD.
Didn't Sony just recently state that the cc data was encrypted?
Didn't Sony just report that all the cc data was encrypted? But who knows, maybe the guy is the first to have his cc decrypted or something a week later after the ps intrusion announcement. I would've expected thousands of hundreds of report before the official statement, hell, even by now though.
Didn't Sony say that the cc data was encrypted? Idk, but maybe he is the second person to have his cc compromise a week later after the psn intrusion announcement though, who knows.
Edit: Nvm, the submitter changed this to rumor status.
"First documented case of fraud related to the unauthorised intrusion."
Damn, he's the first guy to supposedly had his cc stolen? I thought there would be hundreds of thousands after the possible psn compromise. I've been lucky with my cc (nothing touch), gonna get my new card by next week.
Edit: @ Blackburn
My bad, Sony did say that the CC data was encrypted. Maybe they decrypted his credit card or something.
I thought they would have to pay billions, that what one article said.
Yeah, I thought they would have to pay billions like one article said. Nothing is unhackable though.
I haven't been hit yet but I sent in for a new card today and I think I'm just gonna use PSN cards for now on.
So 3 people so far. I haven't been hit yet but I sent in for a new card today and changed my passwords just in case.
Could the rebug exploit jailbreakers who use it to get free PSN content that day through the PS Store and play onling games again through dev networks be considered the hacker militia? That's the official rumor that is claimed to be the reason Sony shut the PSN down by modders and PS hacker sites like psxscene.com
Was you comment directed at me or the guy in the article, because you can check all of my comments on Anonymous if you think I'm a member lol.
Like most of the people said in that site's comment section, I kinda think this is another fake as well. The 40 warrants and arrest on Anonymous happened back in January ( Source: http://www.computerworld.co... ) and how would Sony get information about Anonymous members and get folks arrested if they had nothing to do with the attack and are innocent?...
From article
"GB: Has Beatshapers taken any financial hit due to this?
Alexey: Well, yes, this is our primary revenue source and this outage makes me worried. We will surely try to do something.
GB: Is there anything you want to add on the current situation?
Alexey: This is sad that this happened but I call not to spread panic – I am sure Sony understands the situation and will take put in all efforts to fix the same."
...
Tbh, I think Sony took down the PSN because of the rebug exploit that jailbreakers were using to get free PSN content through the PS Store website as well as getting back online to play games on PSN through the game developers servers. Everyone is almost certain it's that on the PS3 jailbreaker sites.
Would've took your comment seriously if I didn't happen to catch your post history. All nine of your comments you made so far have been on how GT5 sucks and how Kaz should retire, and how much Sony sucks and how Microsoft is so much better. I mean, did you make an account just to troll the PSN outage situation? Grow up.
Yeah, but people just passed it off because it was just from a random Sony support guy that a website contacted (Nothing was leaked, I think there was a similar response on the European Sony Facebook page as well). I think they would've had to report it in one of their public response if any information was compromised to anyway. Once the PSN come back up, we should get definitive answers, until then...speculation, rumor articles.
Edit: @ John
Wasn't ...
According to the European Sony PS blog just recently, our credit card info was said to be safe.
Yup, this is that rebug exploit I was talking about earlier in which jailbreakers were using it to get free stuff from the PS store website. This was reported awhile ago though so Sony might already be fixing the exploit.
Edit: Nvm, they're rebuilding it.
Kinda glad they're doing this if it means a better secured network. Hopefully it'll be backup come Monday or Tuesday.
Edit: I don't think our information will get lost (make a new account) or anything like that. They should be able to make the switch.
So going off of the last report on Q3 (50.8 million), this puts the X360 at 53.5 million WW.
Edit: Damn, my bad. I thought it was 51 million, it 50.8 million. I changed it.
Edit2: @ disagree Even your own source in the article says it's at 53.5 million. :/
