While I was definitely speaking of my personal opinion, I would also argue that objectively speaking Outer Worlds is at most good game, not great. Meaning the overall grade should be somewhere around 7/10.
My main point was that most reviews seem to be largely influenced by Obsidians reputation, rather than the game itself. Several players have been pointing out it's flaws such as classic glitches/bugs seen in recent Bethesda games, lack of grenades, repetitive fetch-quests, emp...

Agreed mostly, I still feel like Outer Worlds was more enjoyable than FO4, but the rest of your remarks are spot on, especially the grenades... There were so many moments in my playtrough where my first instinct was to throw a grenade and then I'd remember I can't. It's not something I got used to either, it just felt like it should have been there. Can you have phantom pain for grenades?

It's a decent game (and I'm having some fun with it), but it is definitely not as good as all these reviews and the hype make it out to be. It's riding on the popularity of New Vegas and the fact that it's better than FO4 & FO76 (not a very high bar now is it?). It's not a bad game, but people seem to turn a blind eye to the fact that the game has plenty of bugs, repetitive af fetch-quests and an average at best plot. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad game, it&#...

I don't miss dismemberment as such (admittedly it would be cool and accurate), but I would have loved to see the lightsaber react a bit more with the enviroment. Like we've seen him run trough high grass, but the lightsaber just runs trough it harmlessly? I seem to recall that even in TFU the lightsaber would react if it touched objects outside combat.

I prefer to work alone, and there are perks that support that style. Being stealthy is always easier on my own, and I don't need their input in dialogues. That said, I did recruit all of them, it's good to have a full staff on your ship, and they might eventually prove useful.

I don't bring any of them on missions (excluding some companion quests)

@A2X_ if you ask Bethesda, yes

I'd like to know too, I honestly thought this game died months ago

Gehrman was honestly not that memorable or special, and I was certainly not surprised that he turned out to be the enemy. (Disclaimer: just my opinion. I have to admit though that I wasn't paying much attention to lore or plot, also I had a few long breaks in my playtrough).

Agreed, calling it free to play is a bit of a stretch, but considering everything you do gain access to, it seems like a pretty solid demo.

It's less about morals and more about how pathetic that is. If you want porn, look up porn. Making characters in a game nude to get off is just plain sad

Oh man did he hit the spot when he said he couldn't make a professional review >.>

They already have ESO which is doing really well, there really is no need for multiplayer. That said, if there was an option for a friend to jump into your game session and control a companion, now that could be interesting.

Agreed, her eyes look way too big or misplaced somehow. Especially at 0:40 (unless ofc she's supposed to be some kind of alien that just resembles a human?)

Then there's him wiping off dirt from the jedi symbol at 0:55 and the animation looks like something we might have seen on PS2, that is not how wet dirt looks like (okay, just one small detail, but still)

Either way, still very unimpressed. So far, there's really nothing that's given m...

As much as I enjoyed the gameplay (flying and combat), visuals, and the overall concept and what it was supposed to be... I can't in good conscience in any way try to defend Anthem. The way the game is now, it should have been F2P. IF it was significantly easier to gain armor sets and customization materials, I could see it as a 30€ at launch game. For the 60€ I spent however, I would have wanted a story worthy of what Bioware used to be known for, challenging and varying missions and ove...

So wait, basically the game is great in every aspect.... but the author feels uncomfortable with the theme, so she deems the game to be crap?

Yes, the game portrays a dark and unpleasant theme, that doesn't make it a bad game. If she'd think a bit beyond being a generic woke twat, she'd see that a dark and unpleasant theme like that maybe serves a purpose? You're not supposed to feel good about "colonial expansion and native slaughter", but it does...

"Players who just want more Borderlands will likely be happy with Borderlands 3"

Well, no point reading beyond that, the rest is Polygon mumbo-jumbo
