Game is a good time.
I am also having a ton of fun, but I don't blame the reviewers. However, I do think some are a little sensitive when it comes to PvP stuff. They got their loot stolen once and they decide the game is filled with griefers... well there are other outposts to go to if you aren't comfortable confronting that person.
Just yesterday I had a sloop follow me into port (I was by myself btw), I sailed around the island a couple times, did the 90 degree turn anchor trick, blas...
Alright guys... well, MakoD has determined this isn't really a game, not really. So let's all just roll up the sails, cancel our game night with our friends and cancel GamePass or return your physical copy.
Apparently everything I'm doing, the fun time with friends and PvP, the cosmetics that I'm unlocking and customizing my character and boat with just means absolutely nothing... Because apparently it's not a game, not really.
/s
Sharks are in the game and they do eat you haha
What I want to see is a bounty system to hunt those players who focus more on PvP.
I want more fantastical creatures that offer something more than just a beacon to respawn your ship, like the mermaids now.
I want to be able to customize the inside of my ship as well i.e. captain quarters and placement of my materials.
I want more environmental hazards like a water vorte...
Arrrrgh! I be readyyy!
I don't think the reviews are what is going to keep people who already like it with their friends stop playing it... Me and my crew aren't cancelling our Friday night game night in SoT because it got a few 5.0 scores. It may keep NEW players from coming in, however.
What will stop us from keeping playing is if there is nothing new added after we already purchase our cosmetics and became pirate legends.
Eyyyy someone who gets it!
6.5 to 7.5 is where I'd put it. Very fun game, especially with friends. The MP nature of it will keep it lasting, but Rare needs to add some more things in between the times you aren't PvPing.
ok...?
So a MP focused game shouldn't be fun just because of friends. Brilliant logic haha
The game gives tons of opportunity for random things to happen and that's part of the fun that happens in between doing the quests or attacking skeleton fortresses.
NMS promised the universe but delivered a speck of sand.
Rare has always been open with the game... I mean they did weekly videos and alpha tests talking about the game. Did they lead us to believe the game would have more content at launch than there actually is? Sure, but they for the most part delivered on what they said. At least they still delivered missions, co-op, seamless PvP and some of the best sailing we have ever had.
Agreed. I had the most fun in a game last night in a long time... We were busting up laughing the entire time. I even had an instance where a shark saved my life from an attacker. The randomness of it always being online makes this game so much better than the lonesome affair that is NMS.
Also the fact that SoT offers actual missions, regardless of the variety or depth of them... they're still structured missions.
I guess you haven't gotten into any ship battles...
Right?
SoT may not be bursting with content but it features a whole lot more than NMS did, especially at launch.
SoT at least has real co-op, PvP, Mission structure etc.
Yeah, can't agree with that.
In one game you have Co-op, and structured missions and instances and PvP.
The other is just exploring around a procedural generated space...
6.5 to 7.5 seems about right to me. There is definitely a ton of fun here and what is there is well done. However, no one can deny the lack of mission variety. None of my fun comes directly from these missions, it's always what happens on the way there, or on the way back.
I had so much fun in this game last night haha when I read these horror PvP stories I feel bad because I have never experienced those.
Last night my crew got in a ship battle, I jumped ship and grabbed their ship ladder, when I got to the top their guy hit me off the boat. He then jumped in the water after me shot me with his blunderbuss in the back twice. I turn around just in time to see a shark sneak up behind him and eat him. Shark saved my life! We ended up sinking the...
Well, to be fair. I have never once heard of this "Oyungezer Online" before.
I have at least seen Elite Gamers articles around before.
Only #1 will work because they want everyone on a level playing field. Putting upgrades and skill trees would ruin that.
The review is actually very positive, but one of his negatives about the MP aspects I dont understand. This is the nature of the game... adapt?
I can understand the lack of content, but the rest of the review is very positive...
@gaming
SoT also has a goal..?
