Because he doesn't really have any of those things laying around in a pile. He is just trying to make a point. The most he prob has is a XBOX slim and live account. Maybe a recharge battery.
As I've said many times here, there is absolutely no reason to toss a RROD 360 as they are all within warranty. I very seriously doubt there is anyone who has had their 360 for more than 4 years without it rrod on them at least once. As soon as it does, you get MS to fix it and your 3 yea...

"PSP has some sweet stuff still, ya gotta admit. Peace Walker came out this year and that game was absolutely awesome. "

I love some MGS, I really do but I heard that Peace Walker was more like monster hunter than MGS. Also, the controls looked pretty rough with just one analog stick.

Is it really worth it?

I'm excited. I want to play it on my 3ds that I'll be getting. :)

None of those games are from Sony. It's good ea and wb are still supporting the ps2.

Omg why is everyone stuck on the 4gig thing? You can't have a single file be over 4 gig. Those games have many files in the backup. The 4 games that do havevavsingle 4 gig file you would back up to the internal hdd. How many people would really use an external anyways? It's cheaper and faster to upgrade the internal and use that.

If it was just culture Japanese games never would of been popular. Japans devs used to be the best in the world. The games looked and played the best. Now the western devs have taken that crown. The article is right. The Japanese devs have fallen behind regarding tech expertise.

if you actually read the very articles you posted, it said the reason some of those games don't work is because single files over 4gig in size can't be read over an external hard drive. This is hardly a problem for someone who rips the games to their customer 1Tb hard drive that's internal in their system.

I bought my original xbox for online gaming, halo, and the way better performing multiplats.

I owned my ps2 since launch because of the sheer amount of games that came out on it plus the great exclusives.

I bought the 360 with the idea that again, staple xbox exclusives would continue on the system (primarily Halo and Fable) and that the live system would improve (which it did and is still great).

I bought my PS3 (not at launch - too expensiv...

I can't tell if the GT5 reasoning is mostly a European thing or not cause I've only owned GT1 and 2 and never cared for them. None of my friends own any of them. When I worked at a game store, we never sold any copies of it.

I'm not saying its a bad game. I recognize the amazing graphics and great reviews it always gets.

I know a lot of our friends from across the pond are on this site so I'm just wondering if the idea that GT5 will sell ton...

The term in this case, disk access rate is referring to the disk platters that make up a hdd. They spin at a certain speed. This allows a reader head(imagine a record player) to read data off the platter. The problem they ran into is the older model 360's used slightly slower drives as they have changed manufacturers and or part vendors a few times. Point being they designed their code to stream content at a specific rate. The stuttering is from the older drive trying to keep up with the ...

Alot of people here like to throw words and terms around like they know what they are talking about.

I wouldn't mind. I'd never have to switch a disk again. I'd also not have to keep up with all my games. Been collecting since the original Nes. Have a few hundred titles. Hard to find space for all that.

Like the psp, the hackers will just wait for a new jail break update then update the ps3. Normaly that day.

Sony needs to be smart about how to handle this. Would really suck if they removed the ability to use non ps3 data storage. Maybe even remove the ability to install a new hdd.

People can disagree that's fine. I just don't remember them saying it. If you can provide a link to them stating 3d gaming is not in their future or they are not gonna do it, please provide it. I am not partial to either company so it won't upset me. :)

OK, still no way for me to play on my 1080p tv in 1080p using my Wii. Doesn't make it a bad game. Not what I'm saying. Game looks amazing, just not displayed in HD even though a lot of what is being rendered is, sadly.

Sadly I expect to see a back and forth war between the hackers and Sony just like on the PSP. Every new firmware update that comes out on the PSP is followed by a update to the hacks that allow people to continue playing the hacked games.

While I would never ever wish for Sony to charge to play online, at least Microsoft has that over hackers. Pirate and lose your live account, thus lose money.

Wow, so angry. Just because the company is struggling with getting something optimized for the system doesn't mean they are bashing the system. They didn't say the game wasn't possible on PS3, just its taking a little longer to work out the kinks. For all you know, they are working with Sony on this issue.

PS, the SPE's are used to alleviate processing from the GPU. This doesn't free up memory.

5650d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Last time I looked the game wasn't coming out on 360. So comparing the memory to the 360 is pointless. Compare the 512mg memory of the PS3 to 2GB of ram that they are saying is the minimum requirement. Yes, a PC MMORPG game requires more memory than a normal console game. Take off the fanboy goggles for a second and breath. No one is bashing the PS3 here. I'm sure they will figure it out and release the game still on PS3 looking just as good.
