Honestly it just seems like a way of sidestepping more powerful GPUs so they can milk their consumer base longer before next gen consoles arrive and thus demand a higher baseline for power to achieve 4K/60fps visuals. They still have to offer their user base something new without being “too powerful”.
DF actually broke it down in their analysis and basically surmised that it was a change in material to make Spider-Man look less plastic, lighting/weather changes, and a custom SSR for the E3 demo, which couldn’t be done for the entire city because of the amount of man power required to do it.
@Ultranova, are you on the spectrum? Because then I understand if you don’t get that I’m being satirical about the intrigue behind the game.
It’ll be something that confuses everyone even more, like a 15 minute RTS sequence, played on a mobile phone in game by a child on a bus. And Norman Reedus will be the bus driver. Glancing in the rear view mirror as the final shot.
Death Stranding
Looks like they’re really trying to evoke that feeling of freedom and exploration that Halo: Combat Evolved second level had but on a next gen scale. Definitely piqued my interest!
I think it would be very cool for a cameo in a side quest, like you find her hiding in an apartment before she jumps through a portal and the Wild Hunt freezes over the room then blasts through, and you just dust it off like woah wtf was that.
I imagine both of those combined will cripple performance a bit like supersampling in the Witcher 2. Prepare for 720p/30fps.
The map is enormous, Origins was half of the size of Odyssey, so they filled traversal between islands with naval combat.
LMAO
I need a fat Kratos mode in an update (Fatos), and as you progress in the game you lose weight and get shredded.
Lol welcome to Australia http://www.coon.com.au
Got huge Mass Effect 2 vibes when they entered the scar stronghold from that music. Looking good!
I have no interest in Fortnite, but being able to build downwards would add another layer of strategy to the game. It’ll cover you from above ground combat but leave you exposed to cave-ins, flooding mechanics, and funnelling out exposure from campers.
Seems like a no-brainer.
Doc Ock just got leaked accidentally by the guy playing Rhino, so it might be Spidey in some kind of action pose against him.
OR the real villain who is funding the sinister six could turn out to be Green Goblin, and Spider-Man is posing on his glider?
Damnnn, although it probably needed that raw power for a work in progress unoptimised build. Still though, I guess it means cross gen might be on the table and it’s going to be more worthwhile getting it on next gen consoles to get closer to that visual fidelity we keep hearing about.
I know they keep saying they’re aiming for release on this gen, but what, Xbox One 720P, PS4 900P, PS4 Pro 1080P, Xbox One X 1440P? If we’re lucky lol.
I mean will the conso...
Hmmm, hard to say, if this Halo has huge open areas with dynamic enivronments, complex and large numbers of AI and targeting 60fps then maybe it’ll end up as a launch title to kickstart next gen.
I mean I could easily see Cyberpunk 2077 being a next gen launch title too. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Hell f****** yes! Glad this and Starfield and next gen games, it means they’re building far more complex worlds for more powerful CPUs.
Uh-oh was my first reaction when I saw this. Might be too same-y within a year. It looks like they’re taking one more step forward into RPG mechanics with individual gear pieces and dialog options. Hopefully that and the naval gameplay feels refreshing and different enough from Origins.
It’s probably a good thing, because the holiday season will be too congested and this date seems to side step that entirely. Plus now that we’ve got a specific date slightly further than expected, I imagine it’s far less likely to see any delays.
Holy s*** that looks awesome, the environments look destructible and are susceptible to natural disasters. I loved JC2, JC3 was eh, but this looks like a massive leap in terms of world dynamics. I hope there’s more RPG elements in the game.
IGN had some sort of exclusivity to this game for the past few months. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a paid review of sorts.
Wait and see other websites to see if they line up more with Gamespot’s review.
