If anyone has 100% Control and both its expansions you’ll know that we’re likely getting a sequel to Alan Wake and Control in one game. I hope that Bright Falls and some other locations become explorable open worlds that the Oldest House allows passage to (maybe the wall on the opposite side in director’s office?).

Hoping that Remedy designs it as next-gen only title too with a focus on introducing more destructive physics and elemental manipulation. I love the idea of bei...

Wow faster loading times countered by making the grind even longer with a non-linear xp progression system. Well done.

@all the disagrees lol definitely not trying to be a Sony fanboy here was just speculating as all the information we know about the hardware says it should load data twice as fast as the Series X’s SSD. Did not articulate what I mean well but at Cerny’s PS5 tech conference he mentioned that such high speeds required new control chips and I wonder if PS4 emulation can’t recognise SSD drives as fast as the PS5 so the drive speed itself is emulated to prevent any major bugs in back compat thus m...

I suspect the PS5’s SSD is actually too fast for old games’ loading so its max speed is emulated for backwards compatibility until a more effective solution is found, possibly through developer software updates.

He is only referring to current gen games, games built from the ground up for Series X and PS5 will drop the performance of these GPUs just like last gen. So I’d personally hold off until year 2/3 of next gen to see what performance is like.

Frame rates are pretty unstable in the game so you’ll at least most likely get a locked 60fps through backwards compatibility on next gen. Just a shame that there’s 4K resolutions on either platform so it’ll be stuck at 1080p.

Honestly not that worried about Xbox One and PS4 performance, it looks and plays so current gen with dialled up settings for PC.

This game could have been something else if it was built from the ground up for next gen. There’s just no population density or convincing atmosphere, it looks so barren and lifeless and I bet it’s no thanks to current gen CPUs that they couldn’t make the world feel more alive.

This game -much like TLJ- is made for critics, that’s why the final actions of Ellie reflect an office writer’s multi-layered symbolist fantasy for journalists and English teachers to jerk off to and not align with the realistic motivation it tries to establish with the events that transpire. It was such white collar writing I cringed so many times.

It does have its touching scenes, but they are unfortunately inconsistent with its shock value moments and disrespect to chara...

I don’t play turn based games because they’re not my thing so I was excited that FFVII was going to have real time combat, but I can’t say I’ve enjoyed it much.

It’s trying too hard to still have JRPG mechanics and be an action game as well and it’s suffering horribly because of it. Combat is so messy, the underlying system is all Jrpg tactical and the method of execution is real time combat with hard to control characters and a wonky camera.

Even the l...

Visually speaking, if this is how high quality next-gen third party titles will be at the start then imagine how incredible stuff will look a few years down the line.

Very exciting. Honestly can’t wait to see next gen Spider-Man.

Never played RE4, would definitely pick up a next gen remake when and if it happens. Visuals would be killer.

I think the loading times are actually a bug and needs to be fixed, similar to Just Cause 2/3? Can’t remember which one but I’ve found the loading time is reduced by 90% if you go to the Xbox Home screen or open the pop up menu and quickly return back into the game. It only takes 10-15 seconds as opposed to a minute.

I really wouldn’t mind a redo of Rapture on next gen, more open world, non-linear with metroidvania elements of sorts. Also add more creep and horror, the first teaser for Bioshock was dripping in atmosphere.

Keeping it current-gen would have required a f*** ton of cutbacks, and that may have been their biggest mistake. Hope not, but when your baseline is basically the original Xbox one, then you can’t push too far.

I don’t think they were clickbaity enough, should have been “Oceanhorn 2 is the best Zelda game”

Can’t wait to see the games, they’re going to look and be so freaking good. Thinking about Rocksteady, Guerilla, Rockstar and Bethesda. All devs who will show larger gorgeous seamless worlds and are likely holding out for PS5/Scarlett.

I think you’ll change your mind about whatever price it is once you see the games.

They’re pushing for a much greater technological leap this time compared to last so $499 seems quite reasonable. Even $549, it’ll be a slow start but will yield better results for games. Remember it needs to cover the next 6-7 years of gaming. Developers have been pretty restrained by CPU and data streaming this gen. Improving those significantly are important.

Glad both companies are implementing similar technologies. Would have been a drag if only one system was utilising SSDs for games. Multiplats would have likely been restricted to cope. If the next rumored AC is a recreation of Italy, it sounds to me like it’ll be a showcase of exploration, size and scope for PS5/Scarlett.

It’ll be Interesting to see how pre-next-gen console PCs handle new titles. PC SSDs have always been optional and boosted loading times for games develope...
