I don't know if it's possible, but could these highly experienced devs just churn out some cheap F2P micro-transaction filled mobile titles to help fund their AAA titles? These mobile games these days make $$$, and the passion from people like Hennig has me convinced they could make them, and not be corrupted by its income.

Just make sure it’s a PS5 exclusive, trying to really evolve a game that pushed the PS4 to its limit CPU wise is a waste of time.

They need to do what AC Origins did for the Assassin’s Creed franchise in their next FC. I imagine it’ll happen.

The original plan by the government in Australia was to build an entirely new internet infrastructure for the country, and have fibre to the home as you say. Unfortunately parties changed during this and they cut the budget back to make it fibre to the node/central hub instead which is dumb given the severely growing demand and use for faster speeds and larger data downloads. Our house uses about 2TB a month, from streaming, digital purchases, YouTube, 4K streams etc.

Governments have and are becoming too intrusive to the internet infrastructure, with more and more segmentation and monitoring of people’s usage.

I honestly can not see this happening ever on this planet because of all the variables and instability from governments, businesses, infrastructure and population congestion.

My neighbourhood is newly built with a fibre optic network offering 100Mbps to each household, which dropped to ~20Mbps (if you’re lucky) ...

What a drag of a song, does not elevate or excite before starting the game. Really don’t know why these Japanese developers put such mopey soapy songs before the start of huge adventure games.

My counter argument to the author is that each generation of consoles is actually pushing gaming further by increasing the hardware baseline for the mass market.

However, we’ve seriously stagnated this generation due to a serious lack of CPU power and that’s my main issue. Graphically TLOU P2, RDR2, Horizon, Spider-Man all look fantastic but they’re all very shallow beneath their very controlled gameplay mechanics (RDR2 is an exception but wouldn’t work for GTA VI). Worlds...

Finally finished downloading yesterday and I still haven’t been able to play the game up until now. Really disappointed, and there should definitely be repercussions for offering something timed that requires payment, and is inaccessible for that period of time. Really piss poor work from the devs.

Stop mass producing collector’s editions, number them out of 10,000, make the item high quality and people will pay $$$ for it. By this stage everyone’s figured out that a $500 collector’s edition will be worth $80 in 6 months because the backload of stock that wasn’t sold just gathers dust in the warehouses.

Ubisoft is the biggest culprit with this.

Halo 3 Collector’s Edition was perfect.

@Abriael the phrase “price to pay” is a very common idiom implying that there is a high cost for something. Yes, you are right that word for word your article headline is “factually” correct. However it does carry a second meaning that is commonly spoken which implies a negative outcome based on the context.

That’s the reason I even clicked on the link at all.

It could be the last Arkham game that bridges the gap between origins and asylum. Court of Owls Timor started much earlier this year/ possibly late last year. Then that twitter pic from someone working there showed up with the CoO symbol.

I think the original rumour had a populated open world 1.5 times the size of Arkham Knight with multiple characters playable. Curious to see if any of it is true. Very excited either way.

Rocksteady and WB Montreal make ...

Hope this is the last milking before BL3. Even thinking about BL3, can’t imagine how many rereleases, DLC and variations we’re going to get over the next decade.

Next gen is going to be something else, I don’t think people quite understand the scope and dynamics of the worlds we’re going to see. Expect Avatar, Borderlands 3, Rocksteady, Avengers, Beyond Good and Evil 2, GTA VI, Sony, all the new Microsoft exclusives and more to just absolutely blow you away.

The golden age is coming.

I hope it’s what AC Oddysey is to Origins in terms of scope. BOTW meets Wind Waker, maybe with flying contraptions e.g. cartoony steampunk hot air balloons as well as sea traversal.

No ambitions as a dev I guess. Wait for the big boys to put out those titles. GTA VI with advanced AI, destructible environments, enterable buildings, advanced weather systems etc.

If the games are being run off the cloud, then they should be operating at MAX settings with ray tracing enabled. There should be no reason for anything less than this. Otherwise it’s not worth the money.

That’s true, I guess I’m just eager for this HP game, and hopefully some awesome open world DC title.

Hopefully after this years bloat with LEGO games, WB will start dropping proper AAA titles. The dev time for WB Montreal and Rocksteady has been quite large, so we must be hearing something from them soon. Even a teaser. Please give us something.

This is some seriously nasty s*** for a single player game. Torrent this.

It’ll be a waste of game evolution, there’s the PC landscape for the bells and whistles should you desire 60fps on everything.

Next gen shoild have a larger focus on simulation due to the lack of cpu power this gen.

If GTA VI has all buildings enterable with NPCs who have complete day and night cycles and a far more destructible environment I would take that over 60fps ANY DAY.
