Man this game looks so sick, such a huge improvement over the first which was already amazing. This year is really hitting hard with some promising upcoming titles and incredible games already released.
What a year it's going to be!
I love when a game like this comes along and reminds us of what can be done without brute force hardware and a strong focus on optimisation. It brings back the console enticement. It'd be hard to find a PC with the same power as the Pro that can output visuals to the same degree as Horizon. With that said, I think the only two real improvements needed to this game graphically (very minor ones but would improve immersion) would be to have reactive fauna aside from the stealth bushes, and t...
Enticing for me because I suck at turn based games (except Pokemon lol) but it's unfortunate for those who were hoping for the classic style to return. I've always liked the aesthetic and lore of FF but the gameplay always kept me away. FfXV changed that so I'm happy to see another title providing again what I found to be a great experience. Especially exciting that it's FF VII which apparently has a great story.
I came across a Lynel accidentally, omfg worst time. And those laserbeam shots are a killer too! The game is so beautiful in its own way. I just wish I could craft arrows, I hardly find any anywhere. Also I don't know if it's hidden behind a menu or something, but I wish the recipes you've discovered would be saved after making a meal once.
Yikes, retail looks like crap compared to the E3 footage. Watch Dogs had amazing rain effects, don't know why they didn't keep them here. Also lighting got a pretty horrible downgrade too. Hopefully AC doesn't suffer this fate.
That's an atrocious response to deter customers from even pursuing a replacement/refund which they are 100% entitled to.
It's a very carefully crafted response as well, I bet some c#@! of a lawyer phrased this ("SHOULD NOT be considered a defect") because they know that consumer law -at least in Australia- trumps any policy they put on a product. Very scummy of Nintendo to say that like their opinion is law.
Dead pixels reduce the resolu...
This is very enlightening, thank you for taking the time to write this. It's the simplest explanation I've read about this technique and what it does.
I'm not sure if this article is poorly worded or I'm just confused. Do they mean that the games are running at lower resolutions (e.g. 1440p) and are being checkerboarded to 1800p, which then either the pro or user's TV upscales to 4k? How bizarre, I always thought 1800p checkerboarding meant they run a game natively at 1800p, then use the checkerboarding feature to create more color pixels or whatever cernimonology is used (I understand nothing.) to give a convincing pseudo-nativ...
My god this awesome. It looks like they've really emphasized master shots of characters walking through environments featuring large monumental and iconic vistas which is something the first Mass Effect teased on its barren planets. The game is looking huge, cant wait!
In retrospect my comments were pretty whiny, it would be nice to have a simple in-game dlc purchase that was a tenth of the price. Although that would probably cause other issues.
Nothing ignorant about my comment. You still need to buy an amiibo, regardless if it's old or new. There's no other reported way to get Epona (unless you've got a source claiming otherwise then please share).
What exactly don't I know?
You have to buy an amiibo, what a joke. I wonder if there's an app or spoofer so you can save your money instead of being swindled on toys to get the full experience. The Switch itself is such an awesome system and BOTW is fantastic, it's just such a shame that Nintendo reduces itself to shady practices like Amiibo exclusive content to price gouge fans and rip us off. I can't believe they left an iconic character out to be a $13 add-on.
It's in there in the IGN play through, it just appears to be absent in this preview for some reason

That depends on what it's checkerboarding from, 1800p, sure! Horizon is like that and it's very convincing, but Uncharted 4 is 1440p checkerboarded up and it's very obvious. Either way games look better so I'm happy :)
I'm having this dilemma and it's killing me, I'm picking up a Switch and BOTW this weekend, and I've got Andromeda on pre-order but I also want to play Horizon but I'm definitely not gonna have enough time between work to do even the first two ahhhhhhhhhhh.
I wish the hyperbolic time chamber was real :L
Yeah it's such a shame, I guess that's the way things are but perhaps the police don't need to be involved at all?
Couldn't companies simply collaborate by creating policies and procedures to prevent this in the first place to make it fair for the customer?
For example:
Zelda Master Edition preorders go up, terms and conditions include no resale above RRP for the product on major market websites for up to 3 months after...
Such an incredible achievement for an open world game, puts other developers to shame.
This sucks and it makes me even more angry that there are people who purchased these simply for exorbitant resale and even have the audacity to put them on eBay before it's even been released. Wish there were protective laws for this kind of practice.
If Michael Scott watched this video...
I wonder if you can change to insanity on new game plus or it needs to be a first play through.
35 second hang time with the Nomad though! Oh my god that's gonna be a big jump on one of those planets, or maybe falling down a long canyon? lol
