Not for some time I'd imagine though... so many last gen games still in need of "trading," and reselling. And those consoles, or at least Playstation 3 will be supported for a good while after PS4 launch with new titles.
For a storyline, at least, they could have you play as a WWII solider and then flash forward and backward where in the present you follow the path of your "predecessor" in the modern day. Bridge the old with the new so to speak. I believe one of the Bad Company games did this to some extent, but WWII would look superb with a makeover using next gen power.
Wow, the whole time I just wanted there to be a Matrix game where you go from "Jacked-In" in the Matrix with super human powers to out in the real world fighting some faction of the machines that didn't want peace using mechs and hovercraft and all that.

Um... this is a good thing so long as it doesn't employ some sort of overbearing DRM BS that prevents players from enjoying their OFFLINE games without an internet connection.
