It was obvious to anyone who's played a new game with a group of people who are just as excited as you are that their reactions were genuine. I've had similar reactions in similar situations with no cameras on at all. It wasn't cringey or fake or anything like that, it was actually kind of nice seeing people react to the game like that. Genuine enthusiasm is getting more and more rare (heh) in our cynical world, and I love seeing it whenever I can.
No, No Man's Sky is the band kid who won't stop talking about the revolutionary new piece of music he just wrote but refuses to say anything new and takes forever to actually play it. A lot of people are sick of hearing about it, or would at least like to hear a few bars, and the rest are so caught up the hype that every time someone questions whether this piece of music really is as amazing as it's supposed to be they attack in the kid's name and make it impossible for anyone...
There is. No. Console. War.
Both systems are selling very well.
No it's not, not when major game "journalist" outlets write dishonest article after dishonest article to push a political or social viewpoint instead of, you know, reporting about video games. Or when a bunch of games "journalists" get together to write simultaneously posted articles about how gamers are dead and everyone should just ignore everything they say instead of, you know, reporting about video games. Or when games "journalists" are given gifts by ga...
There will never be better first person lightsaber combat than the Star Wars Arcade game.
I clicked the link before I saw Polygon. I feel dirty.
He brought it up because it was a new IP and a lot of people shit all over it as not being worth $60, and rightfully so. The Order was a DLC campaign looking for a game.
If this isn't just because of how toxic Inafune's name is right now if the game sells well at $40 this might be the start of a new trend of publishers being more flexible with pricing. Hopefully, anyway. It's kinda funny though, because you had No Man's Sky which everyone thought would be priced like an indie game selling for $60 and ReCore which everyone thought would be priced the same as every AAA release selling for $40.
At this point it's pretty hard to argue against Star Citizen being a failure, and I think there's a pretty decent case to be made for it being a scam, too. At least with regards to everything they got after the Kickstarter ended.
Cool, hopefully they're able to keep on track and have the full game out by the end of the year.
I think it'll be a few years too, but once it catches on more in the US (or even North America in general) you'll see more 4K channels and decoders and everything in other countries too. But if you're talking about, like, Turkey or Crimea or places like that, then yeah, they probably won't get much use out of 4K. But they're also not the eventual target audience.
That's pretty much the exact point I made. Once it becomes more affordable 4K TV's will fly off the shelves.
Because higher resolution always becomes the norm eventually? Once the costs come down of course people will buy 4K TV's and look to 4K gaming consoles. The exact same thing happened with HD and back then people were still saying crap like "HD is way too expensive and unnecessary, my standard TV is perfectly fine" and, guess what? No one has a standard TV anymore.
Wrong, but not at all surprising considering the source. Diversity is the least important aspect of a game, actually. Especially when it's forced in so douchebags can go out and virtue signal in interviews.
Can't wait for him to randomly spout off super witty, self-referential one liners about memes as he's running across the city.
JD is so sexy...
Oh my god how did this ever get flagged as "inappropriate"? It's a completely legitimate worry. FFS fanboys can't handle any skepticism at all, can they?
OH MY GOD NOT WORDS OVER THE INTERNET!!1!!
Look, it's immature as all hell, but death threats over the internet in the heat of anger are nothing to worry about. People say stupid shit when they're pissed and they have total anonymity. Temper tantrums should be ignored, not given months of media attention.
I've never in my life noticed any significant difference between 30 and 60 fps, so it's meaningless for me. And even for people who do notice, a lot will admit it only really matters in certain genres.
Glad to see Kojima has his priorities straight. Personally, I like to see a 4:1 ratio of mascot merchandise to non-engine game footage, and Kojima Productions is delivering.
