I've heard some pretty bad hot takes since January 20th, but this one has to be in the top five.
Everyone who isn't a Nintendo fanboy: The Switch is underpowered, this could be a huge problem with getting the third party support Nintendo desperately needs.
Some idiot at Forbes: No one cares about graphics anymore. The Scorpio is outdated. Long live Nintendo!
Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic 3 is half a game, dude.
If it's underpowered compared to the other consoles its third party support will suffer, like every single Nintendo console since the GameCube. The Wii U died because it was underpowered and no one wanted to waste time and money porting their games over to it. It's not unreasonable to have the same worries about the Switch.
Doom was a better shooter in every way. If you're going to do pointless "of the year" awards, at least limit your judging criteria to what goes on inside the game. If we rated games based on their "cultural impact" Super Mario Bros would win GOTY every year.
How is something with stolen assets allowed to remain on Steam? You'd think that would be the easiest way to get a game taken down fast.
Because nothing is perfect and taste is subjective.
It's over 60 degrees in Ohio. This isn't a cold winter, you knob.
Well, yeah? I mean, does anybody expect launch games to utilize the full power of any console? Or is this just another article that's trying to get clicks by baiting the console war losers?
Paying for incremental alpha/beta builds for games that are perpetually in development? Sounds like there's a lot wrong with that to me.
Ew, Early Access.
Was going to give this a chance but the first level on the list was the Naked Raiden part of MGS2 and how awful do you have to be to think *that's* bad when levels like that goddamn bank heist in GTA4 exist?
There is literally no pleasing these people. At this point, they're not even pretending not to be whiny children who just complain because they like complaining.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it's a struggle for me to figure out which I care less about, Rogue One or Star Wars Battlefront.
Sex scenes in any media outside of comedy or porn are generally terrible. They're either overwrought and ridiculous or unintentionally hilarious.
They said it was more casual because it wasn't focused on a universe ending disaster like the original ME trilogy. The story is more personal and character focused. They literally explained what they meant. People really need to stop seeing the word "casual" and immediately throwing their hands up and assuming that mean's it's going to be Club Penguin without looking at the context.
(Although game devs should know better than to use the word "casu...
In fact, I'd say some of the traditional (for the time) RPG bits were the worst part of the original ME. Managing that cluttered as hell inventory and trying to find the one suit that upped the stat you needed for a specific part and getting rid of it the second you didn't need it anymore because it looked like crap? Very glad the other games streamlined that kind of stuff. Micromanaging my party's inventory is always my least favorite part of RPG's, and it got especially tedi...
Honestly, I'm hoping it's just the side quest thing they're talking about, because there's a *lot* I don't like about the various Witcher games and I'd rather not see those things showing up in series I like. But yeah, it's probably just the latest stupid comparison to avoid having to actually explain the game thing.
The only thing I'm worried about is that, so far, there's only one male human party member revealed. Most people won't agree, but one of my favorite things in Bioware games is being able to romance the male characters, and so far the only male character announced is someone whose personality and goals won't match up with how I want my Ryder to be on my first playthrough. It'll be very disappointing if I can't have a romance that feels right when I play the game for the...
Doing the damage control early, huh?
