I give the controller 2/5 for horrible button placement. Hitting the LB/RB button never felt so unnatural.
...isn't that kind of almost EXACTLY what they did?
@lolCHILLbro sadly you're right. It's easy to look the other way on server down times when it's free but when you're actually paying for the service it's hard not to get very annoyed.
HL2 was the last game I built a PC for specifically with one game in mind. Even got the Radeon card that came with a code for HL2 on steam. I remember thinking steam was an app only for half life 2 haha
I don't think they will now. I did, but the XB1 isn't failing. It's not doing as well as PS4 but it's not like it's tanking. I think we'll just see a $100 pricedrop next year.
Halo set standards for console control schemes for FPS. It does NOT set the standard for all of FPS gameplay.
Halo was 2001. HL2 was 2004.
You're right about the games. But perceived value plays a big role too. When you just paid $100 more for a slightly weaker system that literally feels like a device from the early 90s, it does have a way of making you ask yourself "wth am I doing with my money?" That's on me though. No one to blame but myself.
Neither did I... this needs to stop.
Has anyone actually held an XB1? I hate saying this because the analogy is so tired but seriously.... feels and sounds (when you hold it or tap on it) like a VCR I had in the mid 90's. That thin plastic that feels like you'll bust it if you apply ANY pressure.
still a rip off
"We need 10 or more people in the ring at one time"
Um, no. Absolutely no reason at all for that many in the ring at once. what a gameplay nightmare that would be. Have you seen WWE in real life when there are 10 in the ring at once? It's dumb. Take away any room to do actual moves and all you have are people in rest holds on the turnbuckles.
@nevin1 have you played any since 07 or are you just another former wrestling fan that thinks since they aren't interested in wrestling anymore that the last game they happened to play was 'the last good one'
@nikrel
So by your logic, there's no bad decisions when it comes to adding things to a controller? It's just all gold and we shouldn't EVER question it. Touchpad is useless. Yeah yeah, props to them for trying something, but it's a failure, not hard to see. Just like SixAxis.
@Callediceman
Okay, so let's meet back on this page in a couple years and discuss how the touchpad really helped move things along with PS4. Call it a snap judgment i...
Wii U owners... you've seen this coming all along. Don't act surprised when 3rd party isn't supported on a 'new' system with an already stagnant install base which is really only as powerful as last gen hardware. What do you honestly expect? Just because you chose to spend your money on one doesn't somehow magically justify it as viable platform. Nintendo either saw this coming and just wanted to cash in on Wii's fad or they didn't see this coming. I don't ...
Touchpad is my big gripe about PS4. It's just not necessary AT ALL and no matter what ANY developer says, it's not intuitive or useful if there's a proper UI design in place. Just another thing to eat the battery of the DS4.
Whatever makes you feel better.
Sony news: Sells millions in a few weeks!
MS News: Sells millions in a few weeks!
Nintendo news: Wii U was on a TV show that was seen by millions!
I guess any news is good news at this point for Nintendo fans.
What? Did you just say that a game that's coming out LAST on Wii U and will obviously be a port of the 360/PS3 versions only with the gamepad being used, and that's already been released on PS4/XB1 will be a big selling point for people wanting...next gen? I... WHAT?
HOLY ps4 domination batman. And decent numbers from Nintendo as well.
